The Opportunity
The Switchboard / RMU Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the technical authority for low- and medium-voltage switchboards, switchgear lineups, and Ring Main Unit (RMU) systems integrated into Integra Mission Critical’s modular power platforms.
What you will do?
- Serve as enterprise-level technical expert for:
- Low-voltage switchboards and switchgear
- Medium-voltage switchgear and distribution
- Ring Main Units (RMUs)
- Bus systems and distribution assemblies
- Develop and maintain electrical distribution design standards and specifications.
- Define standard breaker configurations, bus ratings, fault duty requirements, and redundancy strategies.
- Establish arc-flash mitigation and protection coordination standards.
- Ensure alignment with NEC, UL 891, UL 1558, IEEE, and applicable medium-voltage standards.
- Partner with Product Engineering to standardize switchboard and RMU platforms for modular deployment.
- Define scalable configurations that support rapid manufacturing and repeatable installation.
- Review and approve equipment layouts, bus bracing, compartmentalization, and accessibility considerations.
- Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining system reliability and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in switchgear, switchboard, or medium-voltage distribution system design.
- Strong background in protection coordination and power system analysis.
- Experience supporting energization and commissioning in mission-critical or industrial environments.
- Deep knowledge of NEC and relevant UL/IEEE standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in data centers, utility interconnection, healthcare, or industrial facilities.
- Experience with modular or prefabricated power infrastructure.
- Familiarity with digital relays and power monitoring systems.
