The Application Engineer is responsible for working closely with the Product Managers, Engineering, Sales, and other teams to support application designs on assigned product lines. The product portfolio will revolve around cartridge valves, manifolds, directional controls, and more.

You will make an impact in this role by:

• Being responsible for the project management of new application designs and requirements as specified by customers. Interacts and coordinates designs with Design Engineering.
• Creation and maintenance of manufacturing processes relative to the assigned product line.
• Provides technical training to manufacturing and quality staff.
• Writes technical specifications for equipment.
• Technically evaluates bids for from vendors. Analyzes and interprets customer technical requirements from customer inquiries and specifications.
• Will work as a support role for Product Managers.
• Coordinates with Operations to ensure quoted product is viable.
• Provides technical support to Marketing regarding sales inquiries, equipment application, and engineering analysis.

Requirements

To be considered for the Application Engineering role, you must have the following minimum qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years’ industry experience.
• Experience with mobile hydraulics or pneumatics.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to use database software, design software, Project Management software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
• Analytical: Collects and researches data.
• Design: Demonstrates attention to detail.
• Problem Solving: Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
• Project Management: Communicates changes and progress.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Oral Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.

Required Experience And Education:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in mechanical engineering from a four-year college or university
• 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both.
• SAP experience is a plus.

 Salary is commiserated with experience, and compensation for this position is between $95,000 - $115,000.  HYDAC offers employees a comprehensive medical/dental/vision plan, paid holidays, PTO, 401k with company matching, FSA account, short term disability and life insurance, and pet insurance.
