Role Summary
We are seeking a driven Application Engineer / Project Engineer to support and deliver mission-critical control room solutions across EMEA, primarily in France and Belgium. You will engage end‑to‑end—from pre‑sales solution design and technical bidding to post‑sales delivery, commissioning, and customer handover. Your domain expertise in KVM, AV‑over‑IP, and professional AV will ensure our customers in utilities, transportation, security, broadcast, and public safety receive robust, secure, and scalable control room systems.
You will partner closely with Sales, Product, and Services to translate customer needs into workable architectures, accurate bills of materials, and on‑time, on‑budget project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Pre‑Sales / Application Engineering (≈50%)
- Discovery & Scoping: Lead technical discovery sessions, site surveys, and requirements capture with customers and partners; assess workflows, redundancy needs, ergonomics, and security.
- Solution Design: Architect end‑to‑end control room solutions (e.g., KVM switching & extension, AV‑over‑IP, video walls, operator workstations, control systems, audio DSP, intercom, and UCC integration).
- Documentation & Estimation: Produce system schematics, network topologies, BoMs, rack elevations, cable schedules, and cost estimates; ensure design compliance (e.g., ISO 11064 ergonomics, electrical/safety, cybersecurity baselines).
- Technical Bids: Support RFI/RFP/RFQ responses, solution narratives, compliance matrices, and method statements; present designs to customer technical stakeholders.
- Proof‑of‑Concepts & Demos: Plan and execute lab/field PoCs, product demos, performance validation, and interoperability testing.
- Enablement: Provide technical enablement to channel partners and internal sales; deliver content for proposals and customer workshops.
Post‑Sales / Project Engineering (≈50%)
- Project Execution: Translate designs into implementable plans; define scope, dependencies, and deliverables; coordinate internal/external resources.
- Installation & Commissioning: Oversee installations, configurations, and end‑to‑end system integration; perform acceptance testing and quality assurance.
- Handover & Training: Create as‑built documentation, O\&M manuals, and training; conduct operator/administrator handover sessions.
- Support & Escalation: Provide advanced troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions; interface with vendor TAC and internal engineering for escalations.
- Continuous Improvement: Capture lessons learned, drive “first‑time‑right” improvements, and contribute feedback to product roadmaps.
