In this role as our Application Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the application of FANUC software products in the areas of physical AI, external motion control, and virtual commissioning & digital twin technologies for both internal and external customers.
How It’s Done
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert for physical AI and virtual commissioning applications, guiding customers, engineering teams, and sales on the effective use of FANUC products
- Provide both pre‑ and post‑sales technical support, including application reviews, feasibility studies, simulations, demonstrations, customer presentations, troubleshooting, and application optimization
- Investigate and manage product and application issues by identifying root causes, evaluating corrective actions, and communicating clearly with cross‑functional teams
- Support product planning and development by contributing application and market insights, reviewing documentation, evaluating product performance and competitive offerings, and supporting customer‑facing materials
- Develop new and emerging applications and market opportunities by researching use cases, validating solution concepts, and performing proof‑of‑concept testing in collaboration with sales and product teams
- Provide technical input to new products and technologies by defining application requirements, evaluating features, and supporting validation and testing efforts in partnership with FANUC R&D
- Concept, develop, and support demonstration systems for tradeshows, customer engagements, and marketing initiatives to showcase FANUC robotics solutions
- Conduct market and application analysis to identify opportunities for new intelligent products, software enhancements, and digital twin–enabled virtual commissioning solutions
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum three years of experience in industrial and robotic automation
- Strong coding skillset (Python, C++, CMake, etc.)
- Experience or exposure with external motion planning and/or control
- Proficiency in ROS 2, computer networking, Docker, and Linux OS
- Experience with modern simulation and emulation software products
- Experience with FANUC robot and simulation software
What Would Be Even Better
- Master’s degree or Doctorate in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of industrial and/or robotic automation experience
- Experience with Nvidia Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, and Omniverse
- Experience implementing AI workflows for automation systems
- Experience in software product management
- Experience with 2D and 3D design software
