Summary:
The Application Engineer provides application engineering, technical service, and customer support for the sale of assigned products.
* Individual contributor role working under direct supervision
* Incumbent has a Engineering degree or knowledge
* Usually reports to manager
* 0 to 4 years of professional experience.
Responsibilities:
excellent communicator include, but are not limited to,

• responsibility for designated products,

• complete and clear product specifications,

• cost impact of all changes and ensuring cost updates are conveyed to Sales.  This flexible person is also responsible for • delivering capable and sustainable processes through collaborative efforts with Product Design Engineering & Operations,

• creating and managing project plans for new product release/new product development aligned with market strategy, and

This detail-oriented person is responsible for

• training/mentoring others,

• serving as applications/technical advisor to Sales, Engineering & Operations, • approving Plant variance requests (process & design),

• working with Plants to ensure product can be produced – conveying new product specifications and processes 

• recognizing and exploiting opportunities for improvements in quality, productivity and manufacturing friendly designs,
Qualifications:
• This decisive leader must have a BS in an engineering discipline and at least three years of experience in related role in a manufacturing company, be proficient in project planning and MS Office applications, and able to travel domestically and international.  It is preferred that this self-aware and responsive person have a BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and five years experience in related electrical applications (resistance heating); experience in costing, estimating, quoting, Ceramic fiber heater, application engineering, recording macros & editing in VBA and C++, and working in cross-functional and cross-site teams; be familiar with ERP, PDM, MRP software, TOC, and product/equipment design; and be proficient in Solidworks.

  • Proficient in laboratory testing methods and research protocol
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing equipment (kilns, viscometer, pH meter, PSD analyzer, MOR testing, melt furnaces)
  • Technical writing
  • Experienced working in cross-functional and cross-site teams and working as an individual contributor
  • A background as a problem-solver
