Position: Application Engineer (Job Code: 1007)
Duties: Responsible for design and estimate conveyors technologies; develop layouts for Paint Shops and General Assembly plants; analyze customer technical specifications; coordinate in-house estimating activities including relevant drawings and specifications as well as major subcontractors including conveyors, paint application, and paint mix; arrange intercompany activities with offices in Germany, Poland, Italy and Brazil; responsible for layouts, process flow schematic, process list and purchased equipment lists; utilize technical estimation, technical sales, mechanical design, industrial automation, CAD, automotive conveyor systems, automotive painting process, automotive general assembly process, automotive safety equipment, and steel structure analysis to perform duties; investigate alternative sources for equipment and subcontractors; advance detailed estimate spreadsheets for projects, management cost analysis, and customer bid forms; develop technical specifications and clarifications for bids as well as project and job schedules; coordinate job handover and support job implementation by attending planning meetings and design reviews; and conduct technical presentations and provide clarification to customers and other departments.
Location: Southfield, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;
Salary: $96,390 per year;
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a Project Development Analyst, as a Project Development Coordinator, as a Project Development Engineer, as a Project Leader, or in a related occupation;
Other Requirements: Experience must include two (2) years' use of all the following: technical estimation, technical sales, mechanical design, industrial automation, CAD, automotive conveyor systems, automotive painting process, automotive general assembly process, automotive safety equipment, and steel structure analysis.
Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Eligibility:

Scope:
Employees may refer any candidate for any position to Human Resources using the Employee Referral Form located on the Dürr Intranet. A copy of the referral's resume must be attached to the form prior to submitting it to the Human Resources Department. Forms and resumes can be submitted either electronically or in hard-copy format. If submitting the forms electronically, the word "Referral" must appear in the subject line of the email. If a referred candidate is hired, the referring employee will receive a $2,500.00 bonus.
In the event that one or more employees refer the same candidate, the employee who submitted the referral form first will be eligible for the bonus payment and/or gift card. Referral bonuses will not be paid out to more than one employee for the same candidate. Contractors on assignment at Dürr cannot be referred by a Dürr employee. Dürr employees cannot refer other active or previous Dürr employees for open positions.
Referral Bonus Payments:
An employee who refers a candidate who is hired by Dürr for any direct hire position (excluding interns, co-ops, or temporary positions) will be eligible to receive a gross payment of $2,500.00. The bonus payment will be made within 90 days of the referred employee's date of hire. No payments made to employees under this program are to be shared with any other Dürr employee. Bonus payments are considered taxable income.
Exceptions:
Any exception to this program must be reviewed and approved by Human Resources.
Process:
- Employees complete Employee Referral Form and attach candidates resume.
- Submit to Human Resources and Hiring Manager electronically or in hard copy.
