Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support and execute engineering studies involving generator and governor performance, controls, and grid requirements.
  • Develop, verify, and validate electrical load flow and dynamic models used to represent generating facilities
  • Support testing and data collection at power plants
  • Analyze test and simulation results to identify discrepancies and refine models
  • Develop engineering calculations, reports, presentations, and technical documents
  • Work with experienced engineers to troubleshoot technical problems and develop solutions
  • Use industry-standard engineering software and tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, etc
  • Take increasing ownership of technical tasks as your knowledge and experience develop
  • Travel to customer sites when required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electric Power Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in Engineering and/or Product Management in the Power Generation industry
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor work visas at the Bachelor's level, now or in the future, for this position vacancy.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Proficiency performing power systems analysis using dynamic/transient simulation and other analytical tools such as PSLF, PSS/e, PSCAD and MATLAB
  • Demonstrated capability to complete projects on-time and on-budget as either individual contributor
  • Demonstrated ability to perform engineering analysis and design, develop engineering solutions in a team environment, and to provide technical consulting services to customers
  • Proficiency with office productivity software (e.g., MS Office, Visio, MS Project)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (e.g., ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers, plant staff. Etc.)
  • Internship, co-op, undergraduate research, or relevant engineering project experience.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $72,000.00 and $108,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
