Job Description
An Agilent Pre-Sales Application Scientist delivers technical expertise for solution implementation to customers based on Agilent products and services. They are focused on different phases of the sales process, including requirements analysis, feature-by-feature demonstrations, benchmarks, positioning, and implementation. In summary, this team member understands customer's problems, recommends solutions to meet their needs, and ensures customer satisfaction!
The ideal candidate for this position should live in one of the following states: Delaware, Illinois, Texas, Louisiana, or Arkansas, and be willing to travel to support customers in these areas.
A Successful Application Scientist also:
- Analyzes customer requirements and recommends an appropriate solution. Is responsible for customer-facing demos. Acts as the customer voice to influence future product design that meets customer needs and may also contribute to post-sales activities.
- Assists the field organization to meet or exceed sales quota, through the provision of technical expertise.
- Contributes to sales account planning. Participates actively in sales from deal qualification to deal closure and owns the deal's technical closure.
- Develop and deliver technical promotional presentations at conferences, workshops, and customer events.
- Is knowledgeable of competition and able to identify lockout specifications (identify Agilent's competitive advantage over competition).
- May deliver customer training classes and insights related to our applications.
- Works on system/application workflow assignments with broadly defined objectives and solves non-routine issues, challenges, and problems within the field of specialization.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's, Master's, or other University degree in Analytical Chemistry or other related field is highly preferred; may consider applicants with an equivalent combination of training, education, and relevant work experience. A higher degree such as a Ph.D. is a plus!
- 4+ years of experience with a broad range of GCMS instrumentation and applications is required. Additional qualifications and proficiencies are cited below.
- Experience in triple quadrupole techniques is highly desired.
- Experience in GCMS applications related to Environmental, HPI or Life Science Research Markets is desired.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills in addition to strong project management and time-management skills.
- Ability to work well with all levels of staff, internal and external customers, and partners.
- Available for a flexible work schedule and up to 60% business travel across Canada and the United States, including overnight depending on where you are location.
Additional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least January 2, 2025 or until the job is no longer posted. It is sales incentive eligible. In the US, this position is eligible for reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.
The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $135,150.00 - $225,250.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
