This position covers product support, sound design support, technical training, and system design for all L-ACOUSTICS products for the touring and installation of sound in the market. 

 

  • Sound system theory, practice, safe operation training development, and administration 

  • Sound system design, specification, and documentation for touring and installation of sound applications 

  • Sound system commissioning, measurement, and verification for touring and installation of sound applications 

  • On-site acoustical and mechanical verification/measurement to support touring and installation of projects 

  • Sound system design support and training for engineers and operators using  

L-ACOUSTICS proprietary modeling tools 

  • Telephone support for products, applications, safe operation, and software 

  • Adapt, enforce, and maintain a customer relations database, CRM, about users, operators, trainees, and owners of tour sound systems 

  • Regular (weekly) reporting on projects, actions, and other pertinent information to the Director of Application - Americas 

  • Make available support to the sales department and others desiring technical information 

  • On an “as needed” basis, ~ 20% the Application Engineer will be expected to support Installation Sound, including system design reports, Soundvision modeling, and client interface.  

 

This position will report directly to the Director of Application - Americas concerning performing the duties under this Agreement. It shall fulfill any other duties reasonably requested by the Company. 

 

Communication: 

The Application Engineer communicates to: 

 

  • Daily with the Sales Team and other relevant employees to transmit information related to technical support, logistics, and administrative issues. 

  • Weekly via TEAMS to summarize activities to the Director of Application - Americas and other information relevant to current and ongoing projects.  

  • A list of upcoming projects will be maintained and communicated to the Director of Application – Americas, the Sales Team, and other relevant users. The list must be kept current at all times. 

  • Report to the Director of Application - Americas and members of the Sales Team industry trends and intelligence collected during calls. 

 

Other: 

  • The Application Engineer is personally responsible for the technical support and operations budget and must comply with expense budget guidelines. 

  • According to company policy and procedures, the Application Engineer must submit timely expense reports. 

  • All travel to HQ and territory is subject to prior approval via the travel authorization procedure by the Director of Application Americas, the travel coordinator.  

  • Considering the remote employee situation, the Application Engineer must keep the manager abreast of ongoing activities.  

 

What you will need to be successful 

  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in the Pro Audio industry.  

  • Bachelor/Master/Engineering Degree preferred  

  • Installation market experience with professional audiovisual systems  

  • Practical PA system design and operation for installation and corporate installation market  

  • Experience in AUTOCAD/Vectorworks preferred  

  • Experience with Q-SYS  

  • Good verbal and written communication skills  

  • Proficient in English  

  • The average expected travel is ~50%, subject to temporary increases during new build launches.
