Job Description

Join the future of software development as an Application Developer in our rapidly growing company. You must be able to swiftly become a productive developer in our cutting-edge “low code” platform, VINYL™. VINYL™ enables you to design, manage, and build modern business process applications in days.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop groundbreaking business process applications for our customers
  • Translate requirements into specific features and design end-to-end solutions for both internal and customer applications
  • Beyond functional requirements be able to look at our customers business requirements and assess non-functional requirements for: Security, Reliability, Usability, Performance and Scalability
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across customer projects, applications and internal ways of working
  • Become proficient in building applications in VINYL™
  • Collaborate with remote team members to meet project goals, log and fix bugs, test features, create documentation, and solve complex business problems
  • Work with customers to find new use cases for our software
  • Be willing to accept an expanded role and more responsibility as the company grows
  • Log and fix any bugs encountered during application development
  • Continue to improve applications once in production and address support tickets as needed
  • Learn company methodology to organize features built with the platform

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or minor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Decision Information Science, Business, or a related program, or equivalent work experience in application development
  • Multiple years of experience managing software development projects
  • Strong understanding of data models
  • Expertise in SQL, OLAP, OLTP, Oracle, or other relational database management systems and NoSQL systems such as Cassandra and MongoDB
  • Ability to break difficult problems down into solvable pieces
  • Flexibility to serve multiple clients, perform software demos to new clients, and generate pre-sales opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work from home up to 50%, with travel up to 50%
  • Willingness to say "I don't know, but I'll find the answer," and ask for help from the team
  • Essential to be detail-oriented and stay self-motivated under minimal supervision

Other Preferred Skills:

  • Previous employment in an IT-focused consulting services company
  • Experience in agile framework and associated scrum methodology
  • Experience in non-traditional IT roles that have given you insight into business models and ways of working
  • Rapid Application Development experience
  • Past Experience with BPMN workflow tools such as Camunda.
  • Skills in one or more computer programming languages (C, Java, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Experience with User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design and best practices
  • Understanding of web design, especially HTML
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and other integration technologies
