The Role

This position is working in Gas South’s Information Technology Office.  Under general supervision and working with the development team, understand the technology stack, review and understand the code base and QA environment, implement minor application changes and/or perform testing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in daily scrums and work on the assigned tasks.
  • Participate in code review sessions with the development team.
  • Implement assigned tasks namely minor application changes / writing unit tests / Manual QA / test automation as assigned by the team lead / scrum master.
  • Actively engage and seek out input from other team members.
  • Conduct end to end testing for both functionality and usability.
  • Assist the cross functional teams by providing the appropriate level of support for production operations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer information systems. 
  • Internship or prior relevant work experience is preferred
  • Understanding of Azure DevOps and/or other development environments.
  • Understanding of C# and/or VB.NET, HTML, CSS, Angular and other front-end frameworks will be a huge plus.
  • Understanding or exposure to the following technologies are a plus:
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Azure SQL Server
    • Git
    • Testing Tools such as Selenium, JMeter
  • Experience with working in Agile / Fast Paced Development Environment.
  • Deadline oriented with proven task-completion record; capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Possesses a track record of excellent performance, proactivity and exceptional work practices


What is an Internship at Gas South? 

The purpose of the Gas South Internship Program is to: 

  • Provide completion of special projects and filling any gaps during peak workloads.
  • Perform fundamental tasks freeing permanent employees to do higher priority work.
  • Facilitate intern learning activities outside the main job duties for which they are hired to foster team engagement and holistic experience for all interns.
  • Provide the opportunity to apply classroom theory to "real world" situations thus enhancing the intern’s academic and career goals.
  • Engage interns with other employees to share their dedication, motivation and influence our work environments.
  • Provide interaction with Senior Management and leadership by formally presenting their experiences at the end of the program.
  • 10 Week Paid Internship Program
