We are looking for an Application/Cloud Architect to join our team in Brussels. In this role, you will be in charge of the following tasks:
• Analysis of the integration of different information systems.
• Technical interface between the project leaders and the business users.
• Production of software architecture documents.
• Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users.
• Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation
and reporting
• Redesign of the application to be cloud ready
Knowledge and Skills
Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:
• Excellent knowledge of node.JS
• Very good knowledge of Angular/eUI
• Good experience in PHP
• Good experience in database environments (MySQL, Oracle)
• Knowledge in using tools from Atlassian like JIRA, Bitbucket, Bamboo and confluence for software
development management
• Ability to adapt efficiently and fast into an existing development team
• Ability to apply high quality standards
• Ability to cope with fast changing technologies
• Good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Analysis and problem solving skills
Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates
should also have the following non-technical skills:
• Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and
experience in working in team.
• Ability to participate in multilingual meetings.
• Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects.
• Excellent Team Player
• Ability to understand, speak and write in English -min level B2, French will be an advantage.
Specific Expertise
Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:
• at least 4 years of specific expertise in node.JS
• at least 2.5 years of specific expertise in Angular
• at least 2.5 years of specific expertise in PHP
• at least 3 years of specific expertise in database technologies such as MySQL or Oracle
