About the Role
We are looking for a detail‑oriented, adaptable, and proactive Application Developer & Automation Specialist to join the IT Manufacturing team. This role combines hands‑on application development with close collaboration across business, operations, and IT teams, supporting both new project delivery and continuous improvement of existing systems.
You will work closely with stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to automation initiatives, enhance legacy systems, and support the implementation of modern integrations such as REST APIs.
How You Will Contribute
Application Development & Automation
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications using JavaScript, VBScript, Classic ASP, Python, and optionally PHP.
- Build and maintain automation solutions to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
- Contribute to new projects as well as the optimization and modernization of existing systems.
- Develop and maintain REST API integrations to support system connectivity and future enhancements.
Database Management
- Design, query, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, including tables, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
- Ensure database solutions meet business requirements and standards for security, reliability, and performance.
Testing & Support
- Perform unit and integration testing to validate application functionality.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Provide application support as needed, particularly following system or infrastructure changes.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues across IT and Operations to deliver scalable, business‑aligned solutions.
- Share knowledge and provide guidance, contributing to a collaborative and learning‑focused team environment.
Documentation & Compliance
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, processes, and system changes.
- Ensure solutions comply with IT security, compliance, and best‑practice standards.
What You Will Bring
- Experience in application development, scripting, or automation within an IT, manufacturing, or similar environment.
- Hands‑on experience with technologies such as JavaScript, VBScript, Classic ASP, Python, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience working with legacy systems alongside modernization, automation, and REST API integrations.
- Understanding of system architectures, integrations, data flows, and software development best practices.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with a focus on quality, reliability, and continuous improvement; professional English proficiency required, Dutch is an advantage.
