The Role

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently pursuing a new opportunity that has openings for an Application Architect to work in Tampa, FL. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Development, Application, and Training (EDAT) mission. In this mission we are focused on providing innovative, data-driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enable seamless operations across USSOCOM's global

network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to enhance the mobility and readiness of Special Operations Forces (SOF) in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Key tasks include program management, application development, training support, and technology integration to maintain USSOCOM's

operational edge. The EDAT program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring SOF professionals have access to the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serves as Senior Software Engineer and Agile Team Lead, responsible for the full application lifecycle, from requirements gathering, solution engineering, development, testing, and deployment, to long-term support often enterprise-wide applications for the SOF Information Environment (SIE).

  • React, JavaScript, and jQuery, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

  • Develops and maintains SharePoint-based solutions, including SharePoint Online (SPO), SharePoint Server

  • (SPSE), and legacy versions, utilizing SPFx, SharePoint Designer, and custom web parts.

  • Leads modernization efforts, including containerization of applications, implementation of DevSecOps methodologies, and migration to cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring alignment with USSOCOM’s digital transformation goals.

  • Provides technical leadership in designing and implementing custom portals, branding solutions, and dynamic approval workflows to enhance SOF enterprise capabilities. * Collaborates with stakeholders, including government leads, enterprise architects, and cybersecurity teams, to ensure compliance with DISA STIG, NIST 800-53, RMF guidelines, and Zero Trust principles.

  • Conducts training and code reviews for applications developed by other teams across the enterprise, ensuring adherence to best practices, security protocols, and performance standards.

  • Develops mission-critical applications

  • Assists portal engineering teams in SharePoint migrations and ad-hoc critical development requests, ensuring seamless transition and minimal operational disruptions. Works in a highly collaborative Agile environment, leveraging Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based data processing solutions to enhance operational readiness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with 12+ years of experience in application development, architecture, and full-stack development.

  • Must possess at least a Top-Secret clearance.

  • Extensive experience in application development and modernization, including C#, .NET Core, SQL Server, Entity Framework, React, JavaScript, and jQuery.

  • Proficiency in SharePoint development, including SharePoint Online, SharePoint Server (SPSE), SharePoint Framework (SPFx), and SharePoint Designer for custom solutions.

  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development practices.

  • Experience developing mission-critical applications that support warfighter operations and SOF enterprise-wide requirements.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Demonstrated ability to work in highly classified DoD environments, ensuring applications meet Zero Trust, NIST 800-53, RMF, and DISA STIG compliance.

  • Ability to conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide enterprise-wide application guidance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.15+ years of experience in enterprise application development, leading large-scale software projects for DoD or federal agencies.

  • Proven ability to design and implement secure, scalable, and high-availability applications for cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.

  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft SharePoint development, including SharePoint migrations, enterprise portal branding, and workflow automation.

  • Experience integrating geospatial technologies, such as Google Maps API, into enterprise applications.

  • Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP), text mining, and advanced data analytics to support decision-making applications.

  • Experience with mentoring, training, and leading technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

  • Technical certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Developer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or TOGAF Certified Architect. Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM.

Pay Range:Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
