POSITION SUMMARY:
The ITS Regulatory Team is responsible for ensuring technology and clinical workflows align federal, state and local government programs in order to maximize health outcomes and revenue. Consequently, the team’s work is highly visible among senior and executive leadership across the organization. The ITS Regulatory Application Analyst IV position requires excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills and is expected to work both autonomously and as a team to understand the needs and expectations of various stakeholders.
The ITS Regulatory Application Analyst IV oversees a team of regulatory specialists and technology generalists reporting to the ITS Regulatory Manager. The Analyst plays a key role in ensuring that accurate and actionable data is reported to both internal and government stakeholders. Through analysis and collaboration with IT and operations teams, the Analyst supports efforts needed for successful regulatory compliance at a large academic medical center.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
The analyst is part of a team that supports system configuration, build, and workflows needed to maintain regulatory compliance. Key activities include:
Provide regulatory subject matter expertise and act as an internal consultant on assigned work.
Support Regulatory Manager’s oversight of full portfolio of regulatory initiatives and assist in short- and long-term planning and communication of regulatory initiatives.
Track, read and analyze new rulemaking and annual updates to existing regulations. Provide regulatory subject matter expertise and act as an internal consultant on assigned work.
Perform routine regulatory maintenance activities.
Maintaining good working relationship with vendors and vendor support personnel.
Collaborate with assigned departments to integrate ITS support work with efforts provided by local departments.
As requested, evaluate new applications and make recommendations to management.
Provide quality customer service and serve as an exemplary representative of Information Systems.
Facilitate resolution of regulatory issues and stakeholder concerns in an expedient manner.
Manage the relationship between technical teams and operational owners, outside vendors or service providers to assist in communicating regulatory issues.
Lead troubleshooting efforts to identify technology solutions needed for regulatory issues as they arise, develop and manage corrective action approach with the appropriate stakeholder involvement.
Present solutions to ITS management and document issue resolution.
Provide ongoing communication until resolution is reached.
Plan and manage regulatory projects and maintain oversight of regulatory projects being led by other team members. Utilize recognized project management methodologies including activities such as:
Maintain project administrative activities.
Develop a project summary including identification of scope and objectives.
Provide timely and effective status updates.
Develop feasibility and cost benefit studies.
Negotiate and acquire resources as necessary to appropriately implement projects. Assure work assignments for team are completed in accordance with an established project timeline.
Produce documentation of functional and/or technical requirements needed for regulatory compliance.
Maintain Epic certifications.
Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education or experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
At least one Epic clinical application certification is required (either inpatient or ambulatory applications), certification in both inpatient and ambulatory is preferred Certification(s):
Upon hire, additional certifications may be required.
EXPERIENCE:
7+ years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting required, preferably in an academic medical center environment
Five years of information systems experience as a senior clinical/business analyst or project manager required. Demonstrates management ability.
Demonstrates analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills. Strong software and application knowledge required, with base knowledge of relevant technologies preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
In-depth knowledge of regulations impacting healthcare reimbursement and licensure.
Understand policies, procedures, and constraints of the clinical or business operations related to regulatory requirements.
Capable of supervising all aspects of day-to-day regulatory operations and support.
Solid understanding of business environment and operations.
Able to identify complex problems, their probable causes, their impact on operations, report them to the appropriate parties, offer possible solutions, and decide on the optimal course of action while exhibiting judgment and realistic understanding of issues; able to independently and/or collaboratively bring problems to complete resolution.
Excellent organization skill and attention to detail needed to maintain regulatory build and audit readiness.
Able to clearly present information through the spoken or written word; read and interpret complex regulatory and technical information; talk with customers or clients; listen well; provide timely and effective status updates.
Knowledge of project management theories and demonstrated success managing large, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion on schedule.
Compensation Range:
$83,000.00- $120,500.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
