 We are seeking a skilled and proactive Application Administrator with strong Linux expertise to manage, monitor, and optimize enterprise applications hosted on Linux servers. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical applications while collaborating with development, infrastructure, and security teams.

This position is based in Bengaluru and will require some on-site work.

Your responsibilities will include administering multiple data and analytical platforms, ensuring smooth data flows between systems, and maintaining the efficiency and reliability of data platforms. Required Skills & Qualifications

• Application Administration: Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain enterprise applications on Linux-based environments.
• Job Scheduling & Automation: Design and implement batch schedules, calendars, and workflows across multiple environments (Dev, QA, Prod).
• Application Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor job execution, resolve failures, and optimize performance using Application tools and logs.
• Incident & Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Application Integration: Configure and support integrations with SAP, Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, AWS, and other platforms.
• Application Security & Access Control: Apply patches, manage certificates, and enforce access controls to ensure secure application operations
• Security & Compliance: Implement firewalls, patch management, and vulnerability scans to ensure system integrity.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain Bash, Python, or Ansible scripts for automation of routine tasks and deployments.
• Backup & Recovery: Design and manage backup strategies to Ensure disaster recovery readiness.
• User & Access Management: Manage users, groups, permissions, and SSH key-based access control.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, job flows, dependencies, recovery procedures, operational standards and incident reports.
• Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, Security, application teams, DBAs, and infrastructure teams to align batch schedules with business needs.
• Incident & Change Management: Participate in ITIL-based processes for incident resolution, change control, and release management.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu).
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, and firewall configurations.
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, and containerization (Docker, Podman).
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
• Strong understanding of batch processing, job dependencies, and SLA management.
• Familiarity with scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell) for job automation and error handling.
• Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, AWS Redshift) and integration with hosted applications.
• Knowledge of systemd, cron jobs, log rotation, and package management (yum, apt).
• Knowledge of enterprise systems (Linux/Unix, Windows, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Understanding of ITIL processes and operational best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Certifications preferred:
  • RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, AWS SysOps, or equivalent.
  • BMC Control-M Certified Administrator, ITIL Foundation.
• Experience with containerized applications (Docker, Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid deployments. 
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Understanding of ITIL processes and change management.
