System Administrator – FAA FAST - Appian Skills Required
Overview
Centeva is looking for a highly motivated System Administrator to join us in delivering excellent results for our client with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), supporting the FAA Acquisition Systems Toolset. The FAST system provides the framework for policy and guidance for all aspects of lifecycle acquisition management for the FAA, aiming to enhance quality, reduce timelines, manage risk, and minimize the costs in delivering safe and secure services to the aviation community and flying public. You will be essential to the success of several strategic, enterprise-level projects as you work as part of a team and develop new, innovative solutions to complex business challenges. Your problem-solving ability, analytical mind, and drive to exceed expectations will lead you to excel in this role. This position is contingent upon Centeva being awarded this contract. Expected notification is December/January 2025.
As a System Administrator you will have significant knowledge and experience in conducting routine Appian system administration tasks. The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining system efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Server and Infrastructure Management
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and other infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Implement system updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Network Management
- Ensure network security, availability, and performance.
- Configure firewalls, VPNs, and other network-related systems.
- Monitor network traffic to detect and resolve potential issues.
- Data Backup and Recovery
- Develop and maintain data backup schedules.
- Test recovery procedures regularly to ensure business continuity.
- Implement disaster recovery plans.
- Security Management
- Enforce security policies and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Monitor for potential vulnerabilities and apply necessary fixes.
- Manage access control and authentication systems.
- User Support
- Provide technical support to end-users.
- Resolve software, hardware, and connectivity issues.
- Train users on system capabilities and best practices.
- Documentation
- Maintain records of configurations, updates, and changes.
- Create user manuals and technical documentation.
Appian-Specific Responsibilities
- Appian Environment Setup and Maintenance
- Install, configure, and maintain the Appian platform on servers.
- Perform system upgrades and apply patches to keep the Appian environment up-to-date.
- Application Deployment
- Deploy and manage Appian applications in development, testing, and production environments.
- Ensure deployment processes follow DevOps best practices.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization
- Monitor the Appian environment for performance and scalability issues.
- Optimize configurations for high availability and efficient processing.
- Integration Management
- Configure and maintain integrations between Appian and external systems (e.g., databases, APIs, third-party applications).
- Troubleshoot integration issues to maintain seamless workflows.
- Security and Compliance
- Manage user roles and permissions in Appian.
- Enforce secure coding practices for Appian applications.
- Ensure the Appian environment complies with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Support and Troubleshooting
- Assist Appian developers in resolving technical issues.
- Collaborate with Appian support for complex platform-related issues.
- Provide application-level troubleshooting for end-users.
- Documentation and Training
- Document Appian-specific configurations and processes.
- Train development teams and end-users on Appian features and functionality.
Qualifications
- Must have experience in maintaining troubleshooting of a wide variety of systems and networks including Appian.
- Appian certification (Appian Certified Analyst or above).
- Must have knowledge on several debugging protocols and processes.
- Must be able to troubleshoot problems and issues identified by customers and implement corrective actions within the agreed timeframe.
- Optimize system operation and resource utilization and perform analysis and planning to resolve incidents.
- Manage user accounts and permissions sets.
- Provide assistance to users in accessing and using the systems and application components.
- Manage configurations as necessary while following configuration and change management best practices.
- Responsible for ensuring the timely process through which problems are controlled. Includes problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps
- Must have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 Years of experience with Appian administration
Required
- Must have experience in maintaining troubleshooting of a wide variety of systems and networks including Appian.
- 3 years working with Appian administration.
- Appian certification (Appian Certified Analyst or above).
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
