The Impact you will have in this role:

We are seeking passionate and experienced Appian professionals across multiple levels, including Junior Developers, Senior Developers, and Solution Architects, to design, develop, support, and enhance enterprise business process management (BPM) and workflow automation solutions using the Appian Low-Code Platform.

The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, product owners, business analysts, QA teams, and support teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing business applications. Depending on experience and career level, responsibilities may range from application development and support to solution architecture, technical leadership, and platform strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Support

  • Design, develop, configure, test, and deploy Appian applications.
  • Build and maintain: 
    • Process Models
    • Appian Interfaces (SAIL)
    • Record Types
    • Reports and Dashboards
    • Business Rules and Expression Rules
    • Integration Objects
  • Participate in application enhancements, bug fixes, and production support activities.
  • Develop reusable components and adhere to development best practices.
  • Contribute to code reviews and quality assurance processes.

Solution Design & Business Analysis

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in solution design discussions and architecture reviews.
  • Analyze, document, and improve business processes through workflow automation.
  • Recommend platform capabilities and best practices to optimize delivery.

Integration & Data Management

  • Design and implement integrations with enterprise systems using: 
    • REST APIs
    • Databases (SQL Server, MariaDB, Oracle, etc.)
    • External applications and services
  • Develop and optimize data models and database queries.
  • Support secure and scalable data exchange across applications.

Agile Delivery

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Business Analysts.
  • Provide effort estimates and technical inputs for projects and enhancements.
  • Support CI/CD and automated deployment practices where applicable.

Quality, Governance & Production Support

  • Ensure applications meet performance, security, and scalability standards.
  • Support testing, deployment validation, and release activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, defects, and production issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain technical documentation and knowledge repositories.

Leadership & Mentorship (Senior/Architect Levels)

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
  • Review solution designs and application architecture.
  • Define development standards, governance, and best practices.
  • Drive platform adoption, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Relevant experience in software development, BPM, workflow automation, or low-code platforms.

Junior Developer / Associate

  • 3 to 6 years of software development experience.
  • Hands-on Appian development experience with application delivery responsibilities.

Senior Developer / Lead Developer

  • 6 to 10 years of software development experience.
  • Strong Appian expertise with mentoring and technical leadership capabilities.

Solution Architect

  • 10+ years of technology experience with significant Appian architecture and enterprise solution design expertise.
  • Experience leading large-scale Appian implementations and platform strategy.
