Summary:
The NP/PA will work collaboratively with our physician(s) to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with chronic and acute pain conditions. This role involves a mix of clinical visits, medication management, coordination of interventional procedures, and patient education within a supportive outpatient setting.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical exams, for new and follow-up patients
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Perform ongoing medication management, including opioid and non-opioid regimens, in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic imaging and lab work relevant to pain management
- Monitor patients for treatment efficacy, side effects, and signs of medication misuse; utilize PDMP and adhere to controlled substance protocols
- Provide patient education on pain management strategies, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications
- Assist with or coordinate interventional procedures (e.g., epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation) as applicable to scope of practice and state regulations
- Maintain thorough, timely, and accurate documentation in the EMR
- Collaborate with physical therapy, behavioral health, and other specialists to support whole-person care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards
Required qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted NP or PA license in AZ
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Current BLS certification
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a collaborative care team
