As the Java (Apigee) Architect, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating and overseeing our transition from an on-premises Apigee setup to Apigee Hybrid. Your expertise in API management will be essential in determining the best solution for client and ensuring a smooth and efficient migration. This role involves providing technical leadership, architectural oversight, and hands-on support throughout the migration process. 

Must-have Skills and Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields 

10+ years of experience working on Java development or mission-critical development/support engagements  

Proven experience working with Apigee or similar API management software in mission-critical support engagements 

Strong understanding of API management concepts and best practices 

UNIX/Linux commands knowledge 

Cassandra or similar DB experience 

Experience with Apigee administration, configuration, and development 

Familiarity with Apigee Hybrid and its deployment architecture 

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 

Strong communication and leadership abilities 

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams 

Good-to-have Skills: 

Experience with API security protocols and practices. 

Understanding of cloud environments and hybrid deployment models. 

Relevant certifications in Apigee or API management. 

Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools. 

Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, etc. 

Knowledge of monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, etc., to analyse data, monitor performance, and detect errors. 


 

Key Responsibilities: 

Provide technical architecture leadership and guidance in the design, implementation, and support of the platform 

Manage and configure API Gateway for optimal performance and security 

Oversee day-to-day operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the platform 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of APIs 

Implement and enforce best practices for API design, security, and performance 

Contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making process regarding API management solutions 

Lead the evaluation and migration from Apigee on-prem to Apigee Hybrid 

Mentor and train team members on Apigee best practices and tools 


 

 

Skills Required
