MaintainX is the leading AI-powered Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) platform built for the modern world. Our mission is to make the lives of blue-collar workers easier worldwide by providing intuitive, mobile-first software that helps teams keep the physical world running. MaintainX powers operational excellence for 12,000+ businesses including Duracell, Univar Solutions Inc., Titan America, McDonald's, Brenntag, Cintas, Xylem, and Shell.

We recently completed a $150 million Series D round, bringing our total funding to $254 million and valuing the company at $2.5 billion.

We’re redefining how maintenance and operations teams work—transforming maintenance from a cost center into a strategic lever for growth. MaintainX fuses enterprise strength with consumer simplicity, empowering organizations to boost reliability, performance, and efficiency.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to lead the API Platform and Ecosystem team at one of the fastest-growing companies in industrial technology. You’ll guide the engineering group responsible for powering how customers, partners, integrators, and third-party developers interact with MaintainX.

In this role, you will shape and scale the core systems that enable our global ecosystem—from our public API and developer platform to third-party applications, ERP integrations, and BI connectors. You won’t just manage engineers; you’ll influence how the world connects to MaintainX and unlock new business value through data, automation, and interoperability.

If you’re passionate about building robust platforms, enabling partner innovation, and crafting high-quality interfaces used by thousands of developers and enterprises, this is your chance to make an outsized impact.

Join us in shaping the future of industrial operations—one work order, one asset, one team at a time.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and develop a team of 5–6 engineers responsible for MaintainX’s API platform, integrations, and ecosystem services.
  • Own the technical vision and roadmap for our public API, SDKs, BI connectors, ERP integrations, and third-party app ecosystem.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and key business stakeholders to define platform capabilities, integration architecture, and developer experience.
  • Drive engineering excellence across reliability, performance, scalability, documentation quality, and API lifecycle management.
  • Establish strong operational practices—including monitoring, observability, CI/CD pipelines, API governance, and incident response.
  • Mentor, coach, and help engineers grow through regular feedback, clear expectations, and career development support.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Solution Engineering teams to understand customer integration needs and translate them into platform capabilities.
  • Provide clear visibility into team progress, risks, and impact to engineering and company leadership.
  • Partner with Recruiting and other Engineering Managers to hire and onboard top engineering talent.
About You
  • 4+ years of engineering management experience, including leading teams building APIs, integrations, platforms, or ecosystem-oriented products.
  • Strong technical foundation in distributed systems, API design (REST/GraphQL), data modeling, and integration architectures.
  • Experience working with enterprise integrations, SaaS ecosystems, or developer-facing platforms (ERP, middleware, iPaaS, or BI tools is a strong plus).
  • Comfortable working closely with external-facing teams and, occasionally, directly with customers or partners to understand integration use cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical design, roadmap planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency in modern CI/CD practices, automated testing, and building reliable and observable systems.
  • A passion for coaching, developing, and leveling up engineering talent.
  • Excellent communication skills—you can translate complex technical concepts into clear narratives for diverse audiences.

What’s in it for you:

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity opportunities.
  • Healthcare, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) / RRSP enrollment program.
  • Take what you need PTO.
  • A Work Culture where:
    • You’ll work alongside folks across the globe that reflect the MaintainX values: Smart Humble Optimists.
    • We believe in meritocracy, where ideas and effort are publicly celebrated.
