API Developer (Remote)

We are looking for a skilled and experienced API Developer with a strong background in designing, developing, and optimizing APIs using the Microsoft Stack and AWS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating scalable, secure, and high-performing API solutions that integrate seamlessly across platforms.

The role will develop and explicate API solutions based on the organization’s strategic business and technical requirements. Develop and communicate architectural proposals for various projects and initiatives. Defines the approach for structuring each API, including determining appropriate use of technology solutions. Leads the definition and development of technical solutions and the enforcement of standards to guide programs or projects towards the target overall architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust RESTful using Microsoft technologies (e.g., .NET Core, ASP.NET, Azure API Management).
• Ensure APIs are secure, scalable, and optimized for performance using best practices.
• Ensure APIs follow security best practices, including input validation, rate limiting, encryption, and token-based authentication.
• Implement strong authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and API keys.
• Standardize and Develop Web Hook implementations
• Build samples for automation frameworks such as Zapier. 
• Monitor and improve API performance and security using tools like Azure Monitor.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain API documentation and guidelines.
• Debug and troubleshoot API-related issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Utilize DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD pipelines) across Azure environments.
• Work closely with the Technology organization to ensure infrastructure is available for projects and working properly.
• Cooperate with Scrum team to supply precise work estimates

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in API development with Microsoft technologies (C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET, Azure API Management).
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services (API Management, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Azure Active Directory, Blob Storage, etc.)
• Knowledge of cloud architectures, microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in SQL databases, specifically SQL Server.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices.
• Hands-on experience with API monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Dynatrace).
• Experience in API authentication and authorization (OAuth, JWT, OpenID Connect).
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
