Department OverviewDepartment Description
Tax is a function within the MSI Finance Operations Center in Penang. MSI Finance Operations Centre is recognized as trusted partner to customers, suppliers and employees providing excellent service and quality support. Our department supports wide range of Motorola Solutions businesses and operations finance functions across APAC. We are responsible on all related business accounting and compliance reporting and making sure we provide great level of support to our business partners within APAC in all finance areas.
Job Description
Managing a team of tax professionals for the region
To provide oversight and support for tax compliance matters in the jurisdictions of coverage which includes review of tax computations prepared by tax consultants.
To assist and manage tax audits conducted by tax authorities and involve working closely with controllers, finance team, business leaders and external advisors to resolve tax issues.
To provide advice on all tax matters including day to day tax planning and advisory / operational business support, review of commercial contracts and cross-border transactions.
To provide tax technical support to regional and local finance teams and business units within APAC.
Monitor and analyze the impact of proposed and newly enacted tax legislation on the business in the relevant jurisdiction.
Work with APAC transfer pricing team to ensure TP documentation is prepared and maintained in accordance with domestic tax legislation
Identify tax efficient opportunities, and assist with all aspects of tax strategy management, and restructuring initiatives.
Basic Requirements
At least 5 years of relevant experience preferably in a Tax Department in a Big 4 firm and/or relevant tax experience in a MNC
Strong people management skills and ability to think strategically as a leader of the organization
Ability to work under time pressure and handle tight deadlines.
Good technical knowledge and understanding of the tax regimes in Asia Pacific region and tax treaty interpretations.
Working knowledge of the Oracle accounting system is an advantage.
Able to work independently or as part of a group. Needs to be a strong team player.

• Have a positive work attitude and able to manage projects independently.Ability to drive regional tax initiatives and projects and improve tax compliance processes within the region.
