The Opportunity
Cochlear have an exciting position for an APAC Logistics Manager based in our global headquarters in Macquarie University on a permanent full-time basis.
This role will face the unique challenge of navigating regional complexity and cross-functional stakeholder management in the Asia Pacific (APAC) logistics landscape. You will be responsible for implementing the business strategy with a short to mid-term focus, ensuring that the Sydney-based APAC logistics team can support the APAC sales region's vision and growth aspirations.
Your key responsibilities will be…
- Oversee the Sydney based APAC warehouse operation starting from goods inwards through to inventory control, service & returns and distribution of orders, by implementing and enforcing business policies and procedures, ensuring best practice and completion of activities in line with agreed customer service levels
- Planning and implementing resource plans to accommodate growth in the APAC market
- Developing and overseeing the business relationship with all freight providers for the Sydney based APAC Logistics team
- Solve complex problems with innovative solutions that improve established procedures and foster continuous improvement
- Implement key performance indicators to measure the performance of the APAC logistics team and the 7 x APAC Distribution organizations, across all areas, including distribution & service admin
- Develop strategies to meet changing customer service strategies to meet long term business objectives
- Coach and develop team members to meet business objectives
About you
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise in logistics and supply chain management, including end-to-end supply chain processes, inventory management, transportation management, and warehousing.
- Proven track record of managing logistics operations in a fast-paced environment, with experience working with external partners and using logistics technology to optimize business performance.
- Extensive experience working with an ERP system, ideally SAP
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Extensive people management experience and leadership skills
Desired Skills
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement in warehousing and distribution environment
- Experience with SAP S4 Hana applications, especially the demand management, inventory & logistic modules
- Exposure to freight management
