APAC Compliance Analyst (Export Compliance)

The Compliance Analyst plays a vital role in ensuring timely and regulation-compliant exports for Smith, while maintaining ISO procedures and facilitating seamless communication across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide our traders on regulatory compliance matters, including EAR, ITAR, ECCN classifications, HTS/Schedule B, dual-use items, and end-use/end-user statements to prevent violations and support secure international trade.
  • Identify and resolve fast-track shipment discrepancies to accelerate processing and minimize delays.
  • Communicate updates on internal compliance policies to relevant teams and support the effective implementation of changes. 
  • Collaborate with IT and Compliance teams to integrate export control regulations into systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments, maintain export documentation, and track regulatory changes to ensure ongoing adherence to international standards like ISO and APAC-specific trade laws. 

Requirements:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related discipline
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., Certified Export Specialist or equivalent) preferred. 
  • 3-4 years of hands-on experience in export compliance, international logistics, or trade operations.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. export regulations (EAR, ITAR), classification systems (ECCN, HTS/Schedule B), ISO 9001 standards, and global trade compliance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to interpret and analyze complex regulations, conduct risk assessments, and implement compliance programs in dynamic, multicultural environments. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
