Position Summary
Dean, Planning, Institutional Effectiveness, and Research Effectiveness, and Research. Supports Student Success initiatives for the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Keyboarding tasks, including general office correspondence, reports, newsletters, purchase requisitions, general data entry, and e-mail; answer phone calls, provide information and direct calls to an appropriate person.
- Receives all internal data requests submitted through the request system: routes incoming requests to appropriate department member and communicates updates to stakeholders.
- Maintain the departmental budget; arrange travel; maintain files; order office supplies; facilitate software license renewals, take notes/minutes in departmental, committee and other meetings; help maintain the department website; prepare and distribute meeting materials; extract data from databases and other sources. Plan events, including room reservations, food, RSVPs, AV equipment and meeting materials; assist with set-up and break-down.
- Perform tasks for distribution of electronic surveys as a system admin; check results for integrity; prepare reports and distribute results.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Three years of general office experience desirable.
- Must be knowledgeable in the kill of effective interpersonal relations in order to communicate with students, faculty, staff, and the public; provide information in a concise and courteous manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint,
- knowledge and skills associated with databases, e.g., ZogoTech,
- knowledge and skills associated with distributing and processing surveys,
- knowledge and skills associated with event planning, knowledge of reporting and publishing
Working Conditions
- Standard office environment with frequent interaction across campus departments
- Occasional evening or weekend hours to support study halls, advising sessions, or student needs
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 20 pounds
Skills Required

- Experience with databases (e.g., ZogoTech)
- Experience distributing and processing electronic surveys (system admin)

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with students, faculty, staff, and the public
- Ability to maintain departmental budget, arrange travel, and manage office supplies/licenses
