Who You’ll Work With:
The incumbent will be a member of Client Reporting Team in London. The team is responsible for the provision of accurate and timely periodic reporting for EMEA clients. Clients require individually tailored packages which contain elements of valuation, transaction, performance, attribution, accounting and bespoke regulatory reporting.
Reporting will primarily be produced by our Client Reporting team in India. However, analysts will retain some production responsibilities. The role has 3 main aspects: Oversight & Production, Client Servicing and Regulatory Reporting. In addition, we expect that team members will provide project support for any initiative when required.
The incumbent needs to ensure that the highest standards are always maintained in line with our procedures, operational excellence goals and agreed service levels.
What You’ll Do:
Client Service Functions
- Client On-Boarding
- Review and approve Client Reporting Requirements as stated within the IMA and confirm requirements are in line with AB’s reporting capabilities
- Attend pre-funding meetings (internal and external) to discuss and clarify reporting expectations
- Liaise across the business with stakeholders to coordinate and secure key components of the client reporting package
- Formulate strategies & solutions where requirements fall outside the AB standard offering
- Set up client report packages on internal systems, review and sign off initial report package prior to onward transmission to the client.
- Single point of contact for Client Relationship Associates, Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Implementation for all reporting needs.
- Responding to ad-hoc requests both from internal or external clients e.g. Auditors, third party data or service providers, consultants etc.
- Support strategic departmental initiatives. Assist with project work when required, data gathering, analysis and user acceptance testing.
- Ensure all tasks are delivered efficiently. Continuous improvement required for all processes and the updating of all procedures.
Regulatory Reporting Functions
As a member of the London Client Reporting Team the candidate will also be responsible for producing the following region/client-specific regulatory reports:
- MiFID II (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II):
- Ex-Ante Reports: pre-funding disclosures that provide detailed information on the expected costs and charges associated with an investment portfolio before the investment is made.
- MiFID Periodic Reports: These reports offer a comprehensive overview of portfolio performance, costs, and charges, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Ex-Post Reports: annual reports that provide a detailed analysis of the actual costs and charges incurred by a portfolio over the past year. They include a breakdown of all fees, including management fees, transaction costs, and any additional charges, allowing investors to see the true cost of their investments. The team is responsible for the production of the following region-specific regulatory reports
- Client On-Boarding
- CTI (Cost Transparency Initiative): These are standardized, open-access templates used by asset managers to report investment costs and charges to pension funds and institutional investors
- PLSA Voting Templates: These are standardized documents designed to help UK pension schemes, trustees, and asset managers comply with strict regulatory governance and shareholder stewardship reporting requirements.
Production & Oversight
- AB India Production
- Responsible for the creation and initial quality control of reports.
- Ensures adherence to standardized procedures and templates.
- Compiles data from various sources to generate accurate and comprehensive reports.
- London Client Reporting (Production, Oversight & Risk Management)
- Conducts sample checks on the reports completed by AB India
- Facilitates the review and resolution of issues highlighted by AB India through liaison with other departments.
- Ensure all SLA’s are adhered to using tools to monitor progress and escalating any issues as appropriate.
- Attend and contribute to monthly production calls.
- Document procedures and facilitates the handover of new, bespoke /custom reports to AB India post onboarding and perform training when required.
- Oversee the production of monthly management KPI data
- Work closely with system developers to automate customized reporting on the Vermillion Reporting application
- Gathering and communicating requirements to report developers.
- Prioritizing, tracking and reviewing custom reports through all phases of development.
- Coordinating and executing custom reporting user acceptance testing.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications, Experience & Education
- 4-year undergraduate degree preferably in a business-related discipline
- Minimum 3-5 years experience within the Asset Management, Banking or other financial services related business.
- IMC/CFA Level 1cleared professional qualification mandatory (successful candidates will need to sit the IMC/CFA Level 1 cleared within the first year of employment).
Skills
- Knowledge of multiple asset classes and how they can be used in portfolios
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel tools and functions, SQL preferred, but not required
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written as the role requires effective communication across all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, the role also necessitates a high level of attention to detail
- Must be strong in problem solving, prioritizing and able to multi-task often working to tight deadlines
