Job Title: Animation TD (FEAT)
Key Purpose of the Job:
As an Anim TD, you will work directly with the Anim Tech Sups, Pipe artists, Animators, CG Supervisors, Production and various other animation-linked Department teams (like Rigging and Layout) to debug shots from Animation. To assist animators in improving their workflows and techniques, in order to create the highest calibre animated performances in the industry.
Job Duties
- Anim TDs will help spec, develop, document and test new animation tools when the opportunities arise.
- We are looking for proactive talent with excellent communication skills, strong technical problem solving skills, with an appreciation/understanding of the creative, in order to produce high-end imagery.
- This opportunity is geared toward talent looking to gain experience on an animated feature film; with career aspirations including Supervision, or artists in our Pipe, Layout, CFX, FX, Lighting, or Animation departments.
Must Have
● Experience as either a Pipeline TD, including basic knowledge of Python and USD, or as a Technical Animator with in-depth Maya knowledge
●Strong experience using Maya, with basic understanding of other 3D Software packages like Houdini and Katana. An understanding of Linux/Unix based operating systems
● Solid understanding of the animation department and how it fits in a wider production pipeline
● Proficient understanding of how/why animation tools aid animation workflows
● Interest in the production pipeline as a whole, with a particular emphasis on the Animation department
● An understanding of form, texture, physical motion, weight, balance, and lighting
● Strong problem solving skills
