The Role
Company Description

Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.
Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.

Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.
For everyone, everywhere.

More about our mission and what we offer.

Job Description

You’ll be joining the Grow Squad. We manage a complex, multi-product portfolio including Current Accounts, Savings, Investments, and Digital Assets.

As an Analyst in the Risk, Controls and Operations Product team, you will act as the data co-pilot for your team, reporting directly to the squad lead.

Your mission is to uncover the insights that allow us to scale our investment product infrastructure, ensuring that our trade execution and settlement payments are seamless as we scale from zero to millions of users.

There will be a combination of growing established processes where we optimize for marginal gains as well as launching new investment capabilities where your role will involve navigating ambiguity, sizing operational capacity, and ensuring our underlying settlement logic is healthy and sustainable.

What You Will Do

1. Drive Investment Operations Strategy

  • You will partner with Product Managers and Operations Leads to define the roadmap for trade and settlement efficiency

  • You will use data to answer critical questions: Where are trade breaks occurring most frequently? Why is settlement time for specific assets longer than others? How do liquidity provider constraints influence our operational timings?

2. Build the Data Foundation for Operations

  • Since we are launching new investment products, the data infrastructure for complex trade flows may not exist yet.

  • You will be responsible for defining tracking plans for trade lifecycles, building dbt models for reconciliation, and ensuring our data pipelines are robust from Day 1.

  • You will work with the operational risk team to set up the initial monitoring for settlement health, liquidity breaks, and payment failures in these markets.

3. Optimize Settlements & Liquidity

  • You will analyze the end-to-end trade funnel, identifying friction points in order execution and settlement payments that drive up costs or delay availability for customers.

4. Technical Mentorship

  • You are a senior individual contributor. While you may not manage a large team immediately, you will be expected to mentor junior analysts, review code, and set the standard for technical excellence in the operations domain.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Data Stacks: You have expert-level SQL skills and are comfortable building and maintaining your own data pipelines (dbt, Airflow, Snowflake).

  • Python: You use Python for advanced analysis, reconciliation automation, or forecasting trade volumes.

  • Statistics: You have experience applying statistical tools (e.g., Bayesian statistics, causal inference) to real-world product and operational problems.

Experience & Mindset:

  • Operations Experience: Growth in our products relies on the stability of the underlying settlement and execution layers.

  • Able to Navigate Ambiguity: You are comfortable working with limited data and high ambiguity.

  • Strategic Impact: You can point to specific decisions you influenced that changed a product roadmap, reconciliation process, or operational workflow.

  • Commercial Fluency: You understand the unit economics of a fintech product (LTV, CAC, Margin) and can balance growth targets with operational risk controls.

Communication:

  • You can tell a compelling story with data. You don't just dump numbers; you provide context, explain "why," and recommend the "so what"
