ABOUT GOODR
We create and sell active eyewear for anyone. No Slip. No Bounce. All Polarized. All Fun. Interested in joining our team? Keep reading.
OUR VALUES: We have two core values: Fun & Authenticity.
- FUN = Being sh*tty isn’t fun. Agreed? Taking pride in your work, finding joy in being GREAT, and celebrating wins… and losses. Now, that’s fun!
- AUTHENTICITY = Focusing on being authentic over being liked. (Next-level guru stuff. Count it.)
Fun Fact: We do not allow email to be sent internally. Carrier pigeons only. JK, we use Slack.
AUTONOMY: We practice autonomy, empowerment, and accountability so that every team member can be in control of their own life.
- HYBRID WORKING: This role is required to be in the Inglewood office every Tuesday and Thursday with the occasional third day thrown in.
- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: We have an all-company learning program so that we’re constantly leveling up our skills.
SUSTAINABILITY: We think Earth’s pretty rad. That’s why we take action wherever possible to limit our impact on the planet.
- 1% FOR THE PLANET MEMBER: 1% of goodr’s annual sales go directly to environmental organizations.
- CARBON NEUTRAL: In 2019, goodr became a 100% carbon neutral company.
Fun Fact: goodr celebrates every Earth Day by releasing limited-edition sunglasses with frames made from 100% recycled materials—and the packaging is 100% sustainable, too!
ABOUT THE ROLE
Look, we’ve already done the hard part. We’ve scrubbed our data until it sparkles like a fresh pair of "Flamingos on a Booze Cruise" sunnies. We’ve got a warehouse that’s cleaner than Carl’s private cabana, and our database models are purring like a kitten in a sunbeam.
But here’s the thing: a clean house is no fun if you can't find the snacks.
We’re looking for an Analytics Engineer who looks at a Star Schema and sees a work of art. We need someone who doesn’t just "do data"—we need someone who wants to take our existing, pristine data tables and dance with them.
If you get a tingly feeling in your soul when a Fact table and a Dimension table join perfectly on a primary key, you’re in the right place. We aren’t looking for a "Data Janitor" to mop up spills; we’re looking for an Architect of Insight who can walk into our beautifully designed data neighborhood, learn the street names, and start building skyscrapers of logic on top of it.
Are you ready to be the keeper of the Schema? To protect the purity of our cleaned data? To ensure our metrics stay as polarized as our lenses? Then read on!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and build robust data models in our data warehouse (DWH) so that our analyst team can build reports with ease
- Maintain the health, organization, and security of our DWH and corresponding integrations
- Optimize efficiency and costs based on system uptime, source system integrations, and refresh rates
- Ensure database design is optimized for both front-end and back-end users
- Respond to user-reported database errors in a timely manner
- Manage relationships with DWH provider

- Conduct regular disaster recovery testing
- Investigate and resolve database performance and capacity issues
- Monitor and maintain database security
- Communicate effectively with the cross-functional teams to address their needs (bilingual in nerd and business!)
- Keep the data warehouse and your work organized—more well-labeled closet, less junk drawer (Marie Kondo who?)
- Create API connections and scope new integrations - work with our ETL partners to find ways to continue integrating more data into our DWH as the business grows
- No direct reports – you get to focus on the fun stuff without managing your fellow flamingos
- This role is in the Business Intelligence team and will report directly to the Director of Business Intelligence
- Perform other related duties as assigned
