- Planning, organizing, and executing projects designed to garner DuBois new business opportunities as well as projects designed to assist current customer base with technical inquires.
- Collaborate with Regional Sales and Service teams to accelerate organic sales cycle as well as provide expert technical expertise for account retention.
- Support Customer technical interface, account acquisition, account retention.
- Travelling as needed for scheduled customer visits as well as assisting with technical issues (20% max.)
- Generating concise and timely reports on project and research findings.
- Participating in the key processes of new product development, commercialization, BOM and SDS review, as defined by our ISO procedures.
- Working cross-department with production, customer service, and EHS to ensure that key objectives for customers and DuBois are met.
- Able to prioritize the task at hand and flexibly adapt as new tasks arise in team and independent settings.
- Evaluation of raw materials, for the purposes of replacement or alternate sources of supply, to improve DuBois cost position or enhance the performance of existing technologies.
- Active involvement in production including observing, educating and training production workers on blending practices, supporting production scale up of new formulas, investigating off spec batches, recommending modifications or ways to optimize existing blending equipment as well as researching new blending equipment/processes as needed.
- Ability to perform routine wet chemical analysis, onsite and at customer sites, as needed. This includes but is not limited to: titrations, specific gravity, pH, volumetric dilutions, and Hull Cell analysis.
- Assist with content development for Technical Bulletins, Technical Data Sheets, and training materials.
- Communicating on a frequent basis with customers as technical inquires arise via both verbal and written methods.
- Analyzing and resolving issues with surface finishing baths including but not limited to: alkaline cleaning solutions, acidic cleaning solutions, plating baths (acid zinc, alkaline zinc, acid tin, bright nickel, trivalent chrome), phosphating baths, conversion coatings, top coats (organic sealers, inorganic sealers).
- Complete all safety and application training.
- Additional responsibilities include relationships with tollers, trade show support, and customer education.
work experience requirements
- Industrial manufacturing experience preferred; Surface Finishing and Electroplating experience ideally preferred.
- This role will typically have 2-5 years experience, including education.
- Experience with instrumentation, MS Office products, sharepoint or database management software preferred.
education requirements
- College or advanced degrees in scientific fields preferred; B.S. in Chemistry ideally preferred.
- Certified Electro-Plater Finisher (CEF) ideally preferred.
