About you and this role
As the Analytical Leader, you supervise daily activities of administrative, technical and operational employees. Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion. Focus across a site, hub or region to optimize the effectiveness of analytical resources and the analytical work process to ensure sustainable cost-competitive analytical services are provided. Set priorities for the laboratory team to ensure operational objectives are met and tasks are completed. As a leader, foster a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a role model for Environmental, Health & Safety, share learning, and ensure follow-up on incident investigations.
- Develop, implement, and track progress of the Site analytical Strategy.
- Implement the Analytical Work Process and effective Lab Management Systems.
- Provide people leadership for analytical roles.
- Coordinate resources for analytical projects and activities.
- Manage analytical prime controllable expenses.
- Coordinate capital planning and serve as a focal point for procurement of analytical equipment.
- Serve as focal point for analytical vendors, contract labs and services.
- Facilitate the identification of opportunities and implementation of improvements.
- Communicate with business, function, and site roles on development of Service Level Agreements and analytical issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement of the Analytical Work Process.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, other Science related major, or Engineering or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant (PO2/Sgt) Military ranking is required.
- At least 6 years of laboratory, manufacturing or related experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
