Job Summary
Purpose of this mapping position is to assist investment bankers and project managers by preparing required exhibits and illustrations including maps and other geo-related graphics for pitch books, executive summaries, data room and marketing presentations.
Job Description
- Mapping Support for RBC Rich Barr and occasionally other RBC branches
- Utilize ArcGIS to create shapefiles of - acreage for various oil and gas companies, oil & gas plays, geological trends etc.
- Utilize company subscriptions such as DI Desktop to find production, permit and drilling data to be used on activity maps
- Utilize spatial analyst extension in ArcGIS to create heat and contour maps
- Creating and printing wall maps for data room presentations
- Utilize CorelDraw to - create exhibits for presentations and format ArcGIS maps to RBC standards
- Organizing and managing client supplied shapefiles and well data
- Will need to sort through, understand and evaluate attribute data
- This will involve excel use and ArcGIS table joins
- Solving graphic problems that may arise in the office
- Knowledgeable on the various image file types (tiff, wmf, eps)
- File conversion and management
- Candidate should understand the limitations and capabilities of all required programs and software and be able to supplement functionality deficiencies in mapping, graphics and drafting tools
- Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
- Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
- Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.
What do you need to succeed?
- Must be able to research and extract publicly available data, information, maps and exhibits from investor presentations, and other public sources to create internal proprietary RBC quality exhibits
- Must have 4-year higher learning degree
