Role Overview:
The Analyst will play an integral role supporting Northwood’s operations, leasing, and investment teams as Northwood expands its U.S. office portfolio through new asset acquisitions and ground-up development projects. This opportunity is on-site. Occasional travel at the company's expense may be required.
Responsibilities:
Support asset management, development, leasing, operations and acquisitions with a focus on the following activities:
- Perform complex financial modeling and analyze development budgets
- Prepare annual property budgets and asset management reports
- Assist with review of new investment opportunities and support the investment underwriting process
- Perform credit review of prospective tenants
- Research markets, properties, companies and industries
- Track and report on economic and demographic trends, office development and leasing activity, and notable transactions
- Respond to client and investor inquiries
- Review and abstract leases, contracts, and legal documents
- Manage the team’s day-to-day administrative and organizational functions, process improvement projects, and production of marketing materials
Qualifications/Education/Experience Required:
Typical candidate profile:
- 3+ years of analyst experience in the following commercial real estate sector roles: asset management, leasing, development, investment sales/capital markets, consulting, 3rd party due diligence, legal, or investment banking.
- Candidates with less experience may be considered for Jr. Analyst.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Desire to work on all facets of the office real estate investment process from acquisition through asset plan execution
- Track record of exceptional performance and ability to deliver high- quality projects on time
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail
- strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written English language communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office/Adobe Acrobat and capable of quickly learning new software and technology as required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
- Professional demeanor and maturity
- Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet deadlines
Skills Required
- 3+ years of analyst experience in commercial real estate, including asset management, leasing, development, investment sales or capital markets, consulting, third-party due diligence, legal, or investment banking
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail
- Ability to deliver high-quality projects on time
- Professional demeanor and maturity
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to quickly learn new software and technology
