Role Overview:
As a Graduate QA Tester within the GDT (Global Derivatives Technology) XVA team, you will play an essential role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software applications used by traders and other key stakeholders. The role will have a strong automated testing focus. You will work daily with the trading desk & closely with developers, product owners, and the QA lead to perform rigorous testing, track bugs, and ensure seamless software releases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the XVA trading desk to understand real-world application use and requirements, ensuring that all critical scenarios are adequately tested. Support the desk day-to-day to asses impact of configuration changes before they are deployed.
- Co-ordinate releases & sign-offs with key stakeholders at the bank (MarketRisk, Model Vetting, Finance & Trading).
- Perform functional and non-functional testing for trading and derivatives applications, ensuring the software meets business requirements and technical specifications.
- Write and execute automated test scripts, primarily using VBA, Excel Power Query, Python, or other relevant tools.
- Collaborate with developers to design and implement test cases, ensuring adequate coverage and robustness of the application.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools.
- Assist in debugging and troubleshooting issues found during testing and contribute to their resolution.
- Design a regression testing framework to ensure that new code releases do not negatively affect existing functionality.
- Participate in daily XVA technology call with key business & technology stakeholders.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences or a related field.
- Good level of knowledge of SQL
- Familiarity with programming/scripting languages such as Python, VBA, or similar scripting technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Keen interest in financial markets, particularly derivatives and trading applications.
Desirable Skills:
- Understanding of financial products, particularly in the derivatives space.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Experience working in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
