The Invitation Homes Strategic Business Development (SBD) Team, led by the SVP of Strategic Business Development, is responsible for development and management of high-impact, revenue-generating initiatives that may also further resident and associate experience, strengthen asset preservation, and/or promote greater operational efficiency. The Analyst, Strategic Business Development supports strategic initiatives by providing tactical oversight of all programs, conducting analysis, research, and due diligence, assisting with proposal preparation, managing project logistics, ensuring program quality, and providing administrative support.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support program success through tactical oversight of all day-to-day activities, including some resident support.
  • Collect, analyze, and present performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct research and due diligence to inform the evaluation and improvement of new and existing initiatives related to market trends, competitors, and industry developments.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and reports to support partnerships and strategic objectives.
  • Conduct quality assurance audits, including reviews of resident feedback, invoices, and other data, ensuring program integrity.
  • Collaborate on drafting and forming internal memos, proposals, and internal updates to stakeholders.
  • Support project management efforts for pilot programs and tests, including planning, execution, and performance analysis.
  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy, identifying and resolving potential discrepancies.
  • Provide administrative support, including managing email correspondence, preparing agendas, and documenting meeting minutes.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and recommending enhancements to increase efficiency.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and actively seek opportunities to enhance skills and professional growth.
  • Support efforts to build and maintain strong relationships with existing internal and external partners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and strong academic record. Preferred fields of study include Real Estate, Finance, Business, Hospitality, and/or Marketing.
  • Demonstrated interest in real estate, hospitality, financial modeling, entrepreneurship and/or business analytics preferred.

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively (writing sample may be requested).
  • Basic proficiency in PowerPoint and MS Word, with a willingness to learn advanced features as needed.
  • Ability to review and summarize data from multiple sources, with an eagerness to develop auditing skills for property, resident, or financial information.
  • Familiarity with MS Excel, including basic functions such as formulas and formatting, with a desire to advance skills in pivot tables and charts.
  • Foundational problem-solving and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines under supervision.
  • Interest in real estate, property management, business development, or entrepreneurship, with a strong willingness to learn and grow in these areas.
  • Exposure to Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is a plus, with enthusiasm for gaining hands-on experience.
  • Quick learner with a proactive attitude, adaptable to new challenges, and eager to develop additional skills.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to group projects and goals.
  • Professional and responsible, maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement, seeking opportunities to enhance personal effectiveness, team processes, and overall contributions.

  • Must maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; overtime may be required for this position.
  • Some travel required.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • This position will involve long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
  • The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking.
  • This position requires the ability to talk, hear, compare, compute, compile, copy, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate and communicate.

Work Environment

Salary RangeThe salary range for this position is: $61,650.00 - $106,860.00, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
