Company Description

At Statkraft, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Statkraft has been making clean energy possible for over a century. That is what we offer. 125 years of unrivalled expertise in supplying the world with what it needs most. We envision a world that runs entirely on renewable energy. Because in the fight against climate change, we do not see renewable energy as part of the solution -- we believe it must be the solution. With us, you will shape a career that is truly forward-facing with many amazing opportunities and offerings to match

But there is more work to be done – that is why we need you to join us!

Statkraft has been making clean energy possible for over a century. With a strong commitment to a sustainable future, we are Europe’s largest renewable energy producer, operating in more than 20 countries. Our ambition is clear: to renew the way the world is powered.

The Global Drivers team (CSG) is Statkraft’s center of expertise on the long term development of the energy system. This team dives deep into the forces that shape energy markets – from climate policy and emissions to fuel prices, technology trends, and energy demand. We analyse a dynamic space where everything is connected: electricity, heat, transport, and industry are increasingly intertwined, and renewable power is at the heart of the transition.

We are looking for a Renewable Energy  analyst/senior analyst based at Statkraft’s Lilleaker office in Oslo. In this role, you will have responsibilities for long term cost and volume forecasts for the key power technologies of the future power markets, with special emphasis on wind power in the markets where Statkraft operates.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Track developments of clean energy technologies globally and in Statkraft markets, identify key drivers and apply qualitative and quantitate analysis to forecast long term developments
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop and improve analytical methods and models for forecasting costs and production across clean energy technologies, including offshore wind, onshore wind, solar PV and batteries, while taking particular responsibility for wind power in Statkraft’s markets.
  • Provide analytical support to auction bidding and business development within clean energy
  • Communicate insights to decision makers, business/project managers and power market analysts
  • Take part in strategy and commercial processes relevant to specific markets, and prepare summary memos and presentations to support internal decision-making processes

Qualifications

Desired qualifications and personal qualities:

  • Master’s degree in  economics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, with very strong academic performance
  • Proven, deep knowledge of renewable energy technologies and energy markets, and experience in delivering quantitative analysis and translating results into clear insights tailored to user needs.
  • Strong programming skills (Python or equivalent), with ability to work with large datasets and automate analytical workflows
  • A team-player which is highly analytical and self-driven, with strong attention to quality, and eye for both “the devil in the details” and the big picture of the energy transition
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience is preferred, but newly graduated candidates with excellent academic results and the right profile may also be considered

Statkraft manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. We conduct background checks on qualified applicants before hire. The applicant must be eligible for security clearance and authorisation.
