About the position:
This is a front‑office lending role within ING’s Sector Based & Specialized Lending (SSL) platform. The Analyst will support the execution and origination of lending transactions across a diversified portfolio of sectors.
The role will be approximately 50% focused on Food & Agriculture, working closely with dedicated sector bankers and product partners, and 50% focused on other sectors covered by the SSL platform, providing broad exposure across ING’s specialized lending activities. These additional sectors include, Renewables & Power, Infrastructure, Hydrocarbons & New Energy, Metals & Mining, TMT, Healthcare, Transportation & Logistics, Real Estate, and Fund Finance & Services.
The position offers hands‑on experience across the full lifecycle of lending transactions, including origination support, credit analysis, and execution, while working closely with Relationship Managers, Directors, Managing Directors, and sector specialists.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting origination and execution efforts for lending transactions within Food & Agriculture and across other SSL sectors
- Participating in initial deal screening, business analysis, and credit assessment under guidance of senior team members
- Assisting in due diligence processes, including analysis of borrower financials, business models, and industry dynamics
- Preparing and contributing to internal credit approval materials, including credit applications and risk memos
- Building, reviewing, and updating financial models, including transaction cash flow models, return analyses, and internal risk rating tools
- Reviewing financing documentation and supporting the analysis of key commercial terms in loan and related agreements
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders such as Risk, Legal, Loan Operations, Treasury, and Finance to support transaction execution and closings
- Supporting ongoing portfolio monitoring activities, including covenant compliance, credit reviews, and ad‑hoc analyses
- Staying current on internal policies, procedures, and risk frameworks to ensure transactions are executed in line with ING standards
Qualifications and Competencies:
- 1+ years of relevant experience in corporate finance, lending, credit analysis, investment banking, or a related field
- Strong financial and credit analysis skills with a solid understanding of financial statements and cash‑flow‑based lending
- Financial modeling experience (Excel), including sensitivity analysis and scenario modeling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across sectors and teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Salary Range: $105,000-$115,000
