Analyst, Sales Planning

In addition to managing one of the industry’s largest libraries of award-winning feature films, television shows and formats, SPE is home to a thriving global content business.

Sony Pictures Entertainment Canada is also responsible for driving transactional digital revenue (EST/VOD) and physical brick & mortar and online retail sales for SPE’s portfolio of feature film and television content across Canadian digital and physical retailers.

The Sales Planning and Operations team is responsible for setting and delivering our product distribution strategy, supporting negotiations and delivering the end-to-end sales process.

Our Canada office has a new opportunity for an Analyst to join their Sales Planning and Operations team to support all three key areas: TV Distribution, Digital Home Ent, and Physical Home Ent. This position reports to the Manager of Sales Planning. The candidate will ideally have a background in TV Distribution or have worked previously in a media role with some existing knowledge of the broadcast landscape and platforms. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, as well as the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.

Responsibility

TV Distribution support:

Contract administration for TV Distribution: 

• Coordinate with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless completion of contracts, invoices, and deliveries.
• Responsible for expeditious and accurate entry of all Canadian TV Distribution deals across all medias into the rights management and financial systems. 
• Obtain back-up materials for approval/audit requests.

TV Distribution Inventory Management, and Avails

• Work closely with Senior Sales Planning team to create bespoke avail lists that meet client and sales criteria. Track product inventory and maintain various lists to assist with TV sales
• Responsible for normalizing large amounts of data, entering it into our financial system, and tracking actual revenue share amounts against the budget.

Material Availability Liaison for TV Distribution: 

• Liaison between clients and Materials Delivery Group on pending deals and material availability in the system. 
• Locally track and maintain logs with French dubs availability and other metadata.,

TV Distribution Reporting: 

• Create and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports
• Track and report contractual obligations and ensure deadlines are met as detailed in contracts,
• Ad-hoc reporting based on the needs of the various departments that we interact with and support.

Digital Home Entertainment support:

• Maintenance of sales trackers
• Promo submissions and account uploads to external accounts
• Internal system uploads and data management
• Other support as needed.

Physical Home Entertainment support:

• Title Registration of Physical produce with the Quebec Regie and tracking of all associated costs.
• Obtaining ratings from Provincial rating boards
• System updates of all relevant meta data
• Oversight of promo orders
• Other support as needed.
