Job Title: QA Testing Engineer – Planning Applications
Location: Hyderabad, India
Reports To: Planning Delivery Lead
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented QA Testing Engineer to support end-to-end testing of enterprise Supply Chain Planning applications, including Anaplan and Blue Yonder ESP (Enterprise Supply Planning) as well as reporting and analytics tools.
This role will focus on validating planning processes, ensuring data accuracy, supporting integration testing, and assisting in production validation activities. The QA Engineer will work closely with developers, model builders, architects, and business users to ensure high-quality planning solutions across Demand, Supply, Inventory, and S&OP processes.
The candidate must be willing to work on site 4 days a week in Hyderabad and support global planning operations aligned with US PST time zone.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional & System Testing
- Write and Execute test cases for:
- Demand Planning
- Supply Planning
- Inventory Planning
- S&OP processes
- Reporting and Analytics
- End to End business process flow, including MDM and PLM applications to support S&OP, P2P (Procure to Pay) and O2I (Order to Invoice) cycles.
- Perform System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Validate planning calculations, business rules, and data flows within:
- Anaplan models
- Blue Yonder ESP
- Support validation of solver outputs in BY ESP including pegging results, constraints, and inventory balances.
- Document test cases, test results and report defects using standard tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
Data Validation & Reconciliation
- Perform data validation between planning systems and upstream/downstream systems.
- Validate:
- Demand feeds
- BOMs
- Master data
- Supply signals
- Execute SQL queries and basic data comparisons to ensure data accuracy.
- Support root cause analysis of data discrepancies and planning errors.
- Assist in validation of role-based access and user security configurations.
Integration & Interface Testing
- Support testing of integrations between:
- Anaplan and upstream/downstream systems
- BY ESP and upstream/downstream systems
- Data platforms
- Validate API-based integrations and scheduled data loads.
- Perform reconciliation of inbound and outbound data files.
Production Validation & Release Support
- Perform smoke testing and post-deployment validation.
- Support production validation during planning cycles (forecast runs, month-end, S&OP cycles).
- Assist in verifying bug fixes and configuration changes before production release.
- Support documentation of test cases, release notes, and test evidence for audit compliance.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with:
- Anaplan Model Builders
- BY ESP Developers
- Data Engineering teams
- Business Planning users
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint reviews.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, templates, and test coverage.
- Maintain structured documentation of test cases and results.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in QA testing, preferably in enterprise applications or supply chain systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of supply chain planning concepts:
- Forecasting
- Supply Planning
- Inventory Management
- S&OP
- Experience executing functional and regression test cases.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation.
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Understanding of integration testing and data reconciliation.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to document test cases and results clearly.
- Basic understanding of supply chain planning concepts:
- Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Cultural Awareness: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and highly dynamic environment and manage teams across different time zones. Must be multi-tasker and able to prioritize and deliver assignments with the highest quality under pressure with short deadline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to Anaplan or Blue Yonder (JDA) planning applications.
- Understanding of solver-based planning concepts.
- Experience testing ERP-integrated systems (SAP, Oracle).
- Familiarity with APIs and file-based integrations.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies.
