As a market leader in illiquid portfolio pricing valuation, we serve 80% of the top 25 largest private equity funds worldwide. Our Portfolio Valuation professionals specialize in valuing alternative investments, particularly securities and positions lacking active market quotations.

We are seeking an Analyst to support our Asia portfolio valuation practice. This opportunity is ideal for professionals eager to learn best practices, tools, and techniques through hands-on valuation engagements. You will be assigned on a diverse range of projects and be given responsibilities that align with your experience and capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Analyst will provide a range of valuation advisory services specifically to the alternative investment community including private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, pensions and endowments, in connection with our assisting those clients with valuation issues surrounding their alternative investment positions.

  • Designing financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction and option pricing analyses

  • Performing valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments broadly distributed across industries and geographies while using accepted and relevant approaches and theory

  • Assisting team with interviewing clients, including face-to-face meetings, to gather data and information pertinent to the engagement

  • Working with management with building and maintaining client relationships

  • Reporting and presenting analyses and conclusions including written reports

  • Attending relevant industry events to broaden your knowledge and experience within the alternative asset industry

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or MBA

  • Within 2 years of valuation-related work experience in financial services

  • Knowledge of private equity industry preferred

  • CFA (or Level 2 or Level 3 candidate) preferred

  • Ability to construct and review financial models such as discounted cash flow, comparable company models and option pricing models etc.

  • Good understanding of financial statements, accounting standards, and financial analysis techniques

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese, including Mandarin

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to details

  • Ability to multitask and capacity to work flexible hours around critical due dates

  • Ability to manage confidential, sensitive information

  • Knowledge of software packages including MS Word, Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint
