Job Description:
Analyst, Marketing Analytics
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing Analytics, the Analyst will primarily focus on driving business results through
development and execution of world class analytics to meet evolving business needs.
The person is responsible for monitoring and interpreting clickstream and purchase funnel data to identify and take
advantage of opportunities for Saks, therefore they should be familiar with KPIs important to ecommerce businesses.
They will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless tracking and analytics for both Saks.com
and App by writing technical requirements and performing QA, and will be responsible for creating, documenting, and
maintaining performance dashboards within Adobe Analytics for use across the organization.
The candidate should be familiar with SQL to investigate tracking defects in Snowflake, so we can work with
Engineering to resolve them.
Role Description
● You are an Adobe Analytics point of contact for the organization - you will configure reports and classifications,
create complex segments and calculated metrics - and will teach others to use Adobe Workspace to effectively
pull insights to make data-driven decisions.
● Continuously monitor Adobe Analytics data quality and proactively troubleshoot tracking issues, ensuring the
accuracy and reliability of analytics data. With your manager, partner with product and tech teams as required
on defect remediation, tracking issues, and new tracking requests/analyses/reporting
● Use Chrome DevTools, Tealium, and Charles to track and debug web and app, ensuring accurate and
complete data collection, and collaborate with QA teams to maintain expected standards. Test and pass JIRA
tickets through dev, stage, and prod environments. Join weekly planning and release calls to report on progress
● Monitor and troubleshoot the data pipeline that collects clickstream data, including identifying and resolving
data quality issues, and ensuring data completeness and accuracy in Snowflake, as well as other systems
used in the pipeline.
● Analyze data using SQL, Python, R, Excel, and Adobe Analytics to answer key business questions, identify
potential issues in near real time, and support on-site A/B testing strategies as required
● Prepare executive-ready presentations summarizing findings and recommendations, build and automate
reports and dashboards to visualize and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant
metrics.
● Lead as-needed training to the wider organization on the tools we manage, keep up-to-date with Web
Analytics, Digital Measurement, and Ad tech best practices, announcements, and industry research.
Required Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):
● Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Marketing, Analytics or a related field and two (2) years of
experience in the job offered or related occupation
● Minimum 2+ years experience working with web analytics packages including Adobe Analytics, and with
various marketing channels to scope and implement their technical tracking requirements (pixels, URL tracking,
etc) and to configure dimensions, classifications, user administration, build complex custom metrics and
segments, develop advanced reports, and set up alerts
● Experience in utilizing command-line statistical analysis software such as SAS or R and analytic functions such
as SQL and Snowflake
● Proficient with Adobe Analytics - Adobe Classifications, admin roles, Workspace
● Experience with command-line statistical analysis software (e.g. Python or R), SQL (analytic functions,
subqueries, window functions, etc), Snowflake, DBT
● Self Starter with proven ability to apply findings to business problems to lift revenue and profits.
● Experience applying marketing knowledge in marketing technology landscape;
● Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination prior to beginning
employment.
Preferred Qualifications (nice to haves):
● Prior experience working in marketing, preferably in eCommerce
● Experience with a tag manager, like Tealium or Launch
● Experience with analytics tracking QA, including tools like DevTools and Charles
● Proficiency with JavaScript and Jquery
● Experience with ticketing systems like JIRA
