To support our extraordinary teams, which build great products and contribute to our growth, We're hiring a Senior MSSQL Database Administrator at our Guadalajara North Campus to help support the exceptional teams who build outstanding automation and maintain enterprise databases. Reporting to the IT Manager, you'll provide expert SQL Server support .
Reporting to the Manager IT, the Senior MSSQL Database Administrator is responsible for providing expert support for SQL Server databases while designing and implementing tools and scripts that optimize and automate database operations.
What a typical day looks like:
Manage and maintain SQL Server instances across test and production environments.
Perform proactive and reactive performance monitoring, identify and resolve bottlenecks, optimize queries, and fine-tune database parameters.
Act as an L3 escalation point for complex database issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent solutions (includes on-call support).
Coordinate and plan changes (installations, upgrades, migrations) following company change control processes.
Design and implement HA/DR solutions (Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Transaction Replication).
Collaborate with developers, infrastructure, and application teams to support database needs.
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for recurring issues and escalations.
Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to team knowledge bases.
Support SQL Server deployments in Azure, AWS, or hybrid environments.
Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and internal tools to streamline SQL Server operations across hybrid environments (PowerShell, Python, T-SQL, Terraform).
Document automation processes, configuration changes, and operational workflows to ensure transparency and maintainability.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
BA/BS in Engineering, or related field.
Fluent English.
Strong experience as a DBA in SQL Server.
Experience with Azure or AWS cloud services, including resource provisioning and automation.
Strong scripting background to automate tasks and build tools (PowerShell, T-SQL, Python).
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and Agile project management.
Cloud Database Management:
Design, deploy, and manage SQL database solutions on Azure and AWS.
Migrate on-premises SQL Server databases to Azure and AWS using Azure Database Migration Service, AWS DMS, and native SQL Server tools.
Manage SQL Server security.
Implement SQL Server provisioning using ARM templates, Terraform, or CloudFormation...
Development & Automation:
Develop and maintain T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and jobs for database maintenance and business logic.
Create automation scripts for SQL Server administration tasks.
DevOps
Performance Tuning & Optimization :
Analyze and optimize SQL Server query performance using execution plans, DMVs, Extended Events, and Query Store
Design and implement indexing strategies for large-scale MSSQL databases.
