UCT is looking for a talented Analyst V, IT Apps to join us in Malaysia!
Job Summary:
- The Analyst, IT Apps SAP PP/QM is responsible for designing, configuring and supporting the global P2M solution landscape across SAP PP/QM, manufacturing execution interfaces, and end‑to‑end shopfloor integration. This role is an individual contributor role based out of UCT, Penang, Malaysia location. The individual works closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and global process owners to ensure stable operations, effective enhancements, and alignment with the enterprise digital manufacturing roadmap.
- The position ensures consistent design standards, governance, and template stewardship across plants while driving continuous improvement in production planning, scheduling, quality management, and MES integration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Configure PP/QM including master data (BOM, routing, work centers), planning (MRP, capacity), and execution (production orders, confirmations).
- Implement QM inspection planning, results recording, and quality notifications with integration to production and procurement.
- Integrate with third party solutions like MES and shopfloor systems; support data migration and PP/QM‑related interfaces; collaborate on yield/scrap reporting.
- Collaborate with key business users on requirements gathering, defining process flows, impact to the existing solution
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications
- Prepare functional specifications and work with technical team to deliver new functionality and bug fixes
- Training for key users and contributing to training documents wherever needed
- Ensure global governance, design standards, documentation quality, and alignment across regions and plants.
- Drive modernization and digital transformation initiatives in manufacturing.
- Manage configurations for planning, MRP, capacity planning, production orders, confirmations, shop floor execution, inspection lots, and quality notifications.
- Ensure system stability, performance, and high‑quality incident/problem management.
- Ensure compliance with IT controls, cybersecurity requirements, and audit/SOX standards.
- Maintain structured documentation: functional specs, design docs, test scripts, SOPs, and process flows.
- Promote template standardization across sites and enforce change governance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Technical & Functional Expertise
- Deep hands-on expertise in SAP PP and QM, including master data, MRP, capacity planning, production orders, confirmations, and quality processes.
- Hands‑on experience with MES integration, shopfloor automation, and manufacturing systems.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing KPIs: throughput, cycle time, yield, scrap, and OEE.
- Understanding of cross‑module integration with MM, SD, and FI/CO.
- Leadership & Behavioral Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
- Ability to influence cross‑functional and executive‑level decision making.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (master’s preferred).
- SAP PP/QM certifications are preferred
- 8–10+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing and supporting SAP PP/QM manufacturing solution in the IT role
- Experience working in multi‑plant, high‑tech, or semiconductor manufacturing environments.
- Participation in at least 2-3 full‑cycle SAP implementations and S/4HANA transformation projects
- Solid understanding on demand planning, MRP, MTO, MTS, subcontracting process, batch management; QM master data, planning, inspection, notifications
- Good understanding of SOX requirements
- Good integration knowledge with adjacent tracks MM, SD and FI-CO
- Should demonstrate attention to details and evaluate risks to global templates when designing new features
- Preferably a local candidate in Penang, Malaysia who can be onsite for some days or willing to relocate to Penang
- Occasional travel needed for projects and support as needed globally
