Responsibilities:
The Application Analyst Pharmacist is responsible to understand and conform to HonorHealth's project and change management methodologies and may be responsible for leading low to moderate complexity projects leveraging this framework. In addition, this position requires an on-call rotation facilitating off hour work functions in support of incidents, upgrades, patches, and project task fulfillment.
- Utilizes knowledge of medications and pharmacy workflows to troubleshoot low to moderate complexity end-user issues, workflow problems, and enhancement requests for departmental users, associated medical staff, key stakeholders, management and leadership. Contributes to technical and workflow root cause analysis.
Acts as a consultant to healthcare professionals regarding utilization of pharmaceutical therapies and participates in Network committees and quality improvement initiatives as directed.
Provides education and support for the implementation of projects, programs and pharmacy initiatives (i.e. automation, clinical monitoring, patient education, etc.).
May serve as a preceptor for pharmacy informatics students.
Actively participates in the education and training of new pharmacy employees, pharmacy students and pharmacy interns.
Utilizes the appropriate analytic tools and process improvement techniques to assess and improve medication-use processes.
Assesses published literature and/or database sources to identify best practices and/or guidelines relevant to appropriate medication-use and identifies opportunities for pharmaceutical related changes.
Analyze business operations as they relate to design decisions and prioritize and implement requested changes to the system.
On an as needed basis, performs in-depth analyzes of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the use of integrated applications with minimal assistance.
Design, Test, Implement and support files/systems within assigned products and scope with minimal supervision.
Populates tables and databases, for a domain with multiple owners, with some assistance from Vendor and Information Technology staff.
Collaborates in an integrated approach to eliminate the potential for a negative impact to our customers and patients.
Responsible for maintaining set standards of application system build and database maintenance.
Including updates to master files, profiles, dictionaries, and other databases. Assists with recommendations for standardized naming, numbering and security conventions. - Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Communicates effectively (written and oral) across all levels of the organization and has the ability to determine the appropriate forum for each method.
Develops effective working relationships across HonorHealth and with vendor applications support personnel.
Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and manage individual workload with minimal assistance.
Collaborates effectively with team members to adjust priorities based on business needs. - Assists with the change management, project management, and documentation policies and standards, established by the Information Technology Department and Project Management Office for maintenance, requests and new initiatives.
May lead low to moderate complexity projects as assigned.
Understands and utilizes the IT Project Management toolset for the successful completion of initiatives. - Understands and follows established change management procedures for testing, documenting, and communicating system changes.

- Bachelors in Pharmacy Sciences from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy Required
- Doctorate in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy. Preferred
- 3 years Healthcare, consulting, or IT related experience that demonstrates an advanced understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the deployment and development of application software necessary to run the healthcare systems business, clinical or financial systems. Required
- 5 years Healthcare, consulting, or IT related experience that demonstrates an advanced understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the deployment and development of application software necessary to run the healthcare systems business, clinical or financial systems. Preferred
- Pharmacist - License, Registered (RPh) Arizona Board of Pharmacy License 180 Days Required
- Certification for assigned application should be obtained within designated time frame per policy. Required
- Training and/or certification in assigned application. Required
- Certification or licensure for clinical, revenue cycle, or business unit that primary application supports. Required
- Epic Certification - Certificate, Epic certification as applicable for assigned team. Preferred
