What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the Investment Grade Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”) business, you’ll become an integral part of the fabric of CIBC’s New York based DCM team. The environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring you to effectively process information while executing transactions in a constantly changing market. The successful candidate will therefore need to adapt to these conditions with creativity, energy and an entrepreneurial spirit in order to meet the ever evolving demands of the marketplace.

How You’ll Succeed

Our DCM business provides Analysts with an opportunity to gain applicable experience in the U.S. Investment Grade debt underwriting and advisory business.

Analysts will need to be effective communicators capable of building relationships both internally and with clients. As an Analyst, you will have the responsibility of drafting pitch decks, creating comparable lists, and preparing market overview presentations. Additionally, you will provide detailed analytics, financial modeling, structuring, research and transaction support to senior professionals on the team, helping to win business and execute transactions.  

Who You Are

• Undergraduate degree in a business-related discipline

• Knowledge of business, economics and/or finance acquired through education and experience; prior DCM experience preferred

• Strong interest in, and knowledge of, financial markets

• Strong technical, computational and analytical skills

• An understanding of credit analysis and accounting principles

• Detail-oriented and able to think logically

• Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel

• Excellent writing and presentation skills with the ability to grasp complex concepts

• Proven ability to contribute to high performance teams

• Willing to work extended hours in a high pressure/high reward environment

• Ability to take initiative on projects

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $115,000-135,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
