Position Summary:

The Analyst II, Quality Control performs routine GMP testing as well as other activities to support release and stability campaigns. This includes performing data analysis, data review, deviation investigations, change control management, and trending of assay performance, ensuring a compliant Quality Control lab. This is a site based role in Alachua, FL.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Working in QC GLP and/or cGMP BSL-2, (and BSL 3) laboratory facilities and operations.

  • Perform QC release and in-process tests on large number of samples.

  • Participate in other activities like, testing deviations, non-conformances and Out of Specification (OOS) failure investigations etc.

  • Participate in assay transfer activities as needed.

  • Supplies inventory and supports laboratory organization and routing cleaning.

  • Performs solution preparation in support of routine testing.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a GMP (QC) laboratory environment.

  • Experience in writing and reviewing test methods, SOPs, protocols, or reports.

  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Virology, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related field.

  • 2-5 years relevant life science experience.

  • Experience working with mammalian calls, bacteria, live viruses and viral-based vaccines preferred (different infectivity assays, plaque assays, TCID50, neutralization assays etc.).

  • Experience in basic molecular biology (RNA,/DNA/plasmid extraction, qPCR and Droplet Digital PCR).

  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and interpret test results and use the results to make a decision with regard to acceptance of the associated criteria and requirements.

This position may also include the following conditions:

  • This role is primarily a Sedentary role. This can include exerting up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.

  • Visual acuity such as: working with data & figures, viewing computer terminal, extensive reading, operating machinery, general observations of facilities, etc.

  • Participation in an occupational health program (which can include medical assessment, surveillance, vaccination, and testing)

  • Use of personal protective equipment (which can include respirators, Personal Air Purifying Respirators [PAPR], gowns, gloves, face protection, other barrier equipment, etc.)


Exposure to the following:

  • Use of personal protective equipment (which can include respirators, Personal Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), gowns, gloves, face protection, other barrier equipment, etc.

  • Handling, managing, disposing hazardous and non-hazardous waste (which can include: chemicals, universal and e-wastes, oil, aqueous wastewater, etc.), inclusive of exposure to bloodborne pathogens

  • Working in BSL-2/3 laboratories & production rooms, waste holding areas, or other facilities where biological hazards and hazardous chemicals may be stored or handled.

  • Packaging, transporting, and shipping of infectious or potentially infectious substances

Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $60,000.00 - $82,500.00 per year. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
