The Master Data & Costing Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of SAP master data, including Bills of Materials (BOM), routings, and inventory data.
This role supports costing processes by validating and analyzing data, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues impacting product cost and operational performance.
The position works closely with engineering, operations, and finance teams to maintain data consistency and support decision-making through analysis and reporting.
Maintain and validate master data in SAP, including BOMs, routings, and inventory data, as well as support cost estimate generation.
Review, validate, and challenge engineering changes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with manufacturing requirements.
Define and validate routing rates for new assemblies, ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards.
Perform inventory analysis and troubleshoot issues related to BOM inaccuracies, providing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Ensure accuracy of component, labor, and BOM data by reviewing and correcting inconsistencies based on engineering and manufacturing needs.
Support cost accounting activities, including labor cost reporting, cost reduction tracking, and analysis of cost variances.
Provide data analysis and reporting support, tracking metrics and identifying improvement opportunities.
Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to read and understand technical and engineering terminology
Strong communication skills across multiple functional levels
Experience gathering, analyzing, and organizing data with high accuracy
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions and macros) and MS Office tools
Experience with SAP or ability to quickly learn and become proficient
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving multi-level BOMs and cost structures
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams
Willingness to challenge data and processes using facts and root cause analysis
Experience with SQL or database concepts is a plus
