The Business Control Function Sr. Specialist, SOX Tester for BMS will be a highly collaborative member of the Finance business team. This exceptional team member will support BMS’s business controls activities in BMS’s Hyderabad CoE, and demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Exceptional expertise in financial and operational controls

  • Deep understanding of the business landscape, market trends, and industry dynamics

  • Outstanding ability to forge strong partnerships across the organization to provide insights and guidance to cross-functional teams

  • Open communication and cooperation to ensure BCF activities are executed seamlessly

Successful candidates will possess excellent leadership skills, inspiring and motivating team members to deliver exceptional results.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is required.

The position will be based in the BMS’s Hyderabad Location (expected 50% in-person).

Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:

Business control activities

  • Performs SOX controls testing, providing timely, effective, and prompt SOX testing results

  • Identifies and assesses financial, operational, and compliance risks to accuracy of financial reporting

  • Evaluates design and operating effectiveness of key controls related to financial reporting

  • Maintains accurate and well-organized documentation of testing procedures, results, and supporting evidence

  • Delivers regular reports on SOX testing status to the Associate Director, BCF Hyderabad Lead, for consumption by BCF Executive Director, AD of SOX Methodology & Program Governance, and Leadership team

  • Assists in the development of internal control enhancements, both proactively and in response to internal control deficiencies identified.

  • Actively influences the identification of continuous improvement opportunities in the SOX testing processes

Relationship management and teaming 

  • Holds self and others to timelines, quality, and accuracy 

Risk management 

  • Articulates material risks and opportunities and takes an active role in designing and executing response or contingency plans
