The SAP Analytics & Data Integration team enables enterprise analytics by delivering trusted data products, reporting, and dashboards across SAP and non-SAP sources. This role focuses on developing and supporting SAP Business Warehouse/Business Intelligence (BW/BI) capabilities, including data modeling, data integration, and analytics enablement on SAP platforms.
The person in the posted role will be responsible for delivering enhancements and production support for the BW/BI landscape, partnering with business stakeholders and IT teams to translate requirements into scalable, secure, and performant analytics solutions.

Data warehouse / semantic layer: SAP BDC (Datasphere), SAP BW 7.5 on HANA
Analytics & BI: SAP S/4 Embedded Analytics, Microsoft Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects 4.x (Analysis for Office, Web Intelligence)
Data integration: SAP Data Services, BW ETL, Datasphere ingestion/ETL
Primary accountabilities include solution design, build, test, deployment, and run support for BW/BI data models, data pipelines, and analytics content.
The IS Technical BW/BI Developer is accountable for project delivery and operational support of the BW/BI solutions described above, ensuring reliability, performance, and data quality.
For initiatives, they are required to work as part of a global delivery team or independently with stakeholders across the analytics lifecycle (requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, and hyper care). In operations, they will monitor scheduled workloads and a support queue, partner with teams (e.g., SAP Basis, infrastructure, functional analysts, and business users), and drive incident resolution through root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
This position is based in Bengaluru (Westlake office) and collaborates closely with the US-based Information Systems technical team in Houston, Texas.
Essential Functions
Project Delivery
Contribute to end-to-end delivery of analytics and data warehouse enhancements as part of a global (US-led) project team.
Partner with business and IT stakeholders to elicit requirements and translate them into solution designs, technical specifications, and delivered capabilities.
Build rapid prototypes (reports/dashboards) to validate requirements, accelerate design decisions, and support iterative delivery.
Support proof-of-concept evaluations for emerging data and analytics technologies and provide recommendations on fit, risk, and value.
Production Support
Monitor scheduled data loads and reporting processes; coordinate incident response with infrastructure, SAP Basis, and functional teams; and drive root-cause analysis, remediation, and recovery.
Manage and resolve support tickets, including data quality/discrepancies, performance, access/security, defects, and minor enhancements; communicate status and expected resolution timelines to stakeholders.
Plan and execute functional and technical testing for upgrades, patches, migrations, and performance improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Data warehouse: 5+ years of hands-on SAP BW (7.x) and/or SAP Datasphere development and support, including data modeling (InfoProviders/ADSO), ETL, and performance tuning; working knowledge of BW-related ABAP and SAP HANA concepts.
Analytics & BI: Experience building and supporting reports and dashboards using tools such as SAP S4 Embedded analytics, Analysis for Office, SAP Web Intelligence, and Microsoft Power BI.
Data integration: Experience with SAP Data Services and SAP HANA smart data integration/access capabilities (SDI/SDA) and associated troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of SAP ERP functional domains (e.g., SD, MM, PP, PM, CO/PA) and how transactional processes drive analytical requirements.
Self-directed and able to deliver outcomes with minimal supervision in a globally distributed team environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across regions and time zones.
